I played this in around 2002 with my father. He always did choose cormano becase he thought have a better gun. What a memory.

I still remember beating this game as a kid. That bastard Richard Rose, I defeated him with my last continue and 1 or 2 lives left, I thought I wasn't gonna make it. Great memories.

I played it with 4 characters but the shotgun guy's the best
First level boss on the SNES(with speech) says 'mehry with my money'. The Megadrive version is top notch too and is different enough for a different play through than the SNES
This game brings back so many memories of when I use to go to the local pizza parlor and play this with my cousin....good times....

This looks like a pretty disappointing port, all things considered. You can only play as Billy and Cormano, the levels are changed beyond recognition, only four of the original eight bosses appear... They wrecked it completely.
actually , i'd pick this one over the others ( i know it's missing alot ) mainly for the graphics ( coz they remind me of golden axe 2) & the music , you just cant go wrong with that genesis sound chip
yeah this version is incomplete and changed but i think it still more playable than the snes version

You have a point. The censorship on the SNES port was also very disappointing.
In the end, the best will always be the original arcade machine. Consoles were boned overall with this one.
With a few more stages and characters, this could have rivalled its SNES counterpart. I appreciate that they reworked the stages, and I might just like the Genesis sound better, but there's just not enough content to compete.
There were exceptions, but this seemed par for the course for Konami at the time. The SNES versions tended to have more effort put in to them or more ROM space afforded to them. In this case the SNES version had an 8Mbit ROM while the Sega version was only given 4. A 4Mb cart in late '92/early '93 was absolutely pitiful.
@@Silanda mind you, the genesis had the better castlevania game and the better Rocket Knight game and the better Contra game. They put in effort for the genesis when they wanted to
@@duffman18 Castlevania 4 is masterpiece in the whole classic series. Bloodlines is just consolation prize for those who didn't own Super Nintendo. Alien Wars and Hard Corps are both great, but there games are very different to compare.
@@valeriugherciu3449 bloodlines is the better game. More balanced, more character options, no over powered whip, clarity of visuals when it comes to the artwork, two characters to choose from. Castlevania 4 has the music but it’s not a new story either. It also relies way too heavily on mode 7 effects and gimmicks too often. Bloodlines could be argued as the best genesis Game while castlevania 4 is imo, not even in the top 5 or 6 castlevania games

La verdad , si seria una buena idea , ya que una secuela a estas altura es imposible , lo mejor seria un remake , pero va a estar muy difícil que veamos de nuevo a nuestro querido juego :(

For all the things the SNES version has, i'm surprised it _doesn't_ have the animation at 17:47 with the rose.
Especially considering the SNES version was trying to be closer to the arcade version than the Mega Drive version
Seems 2 different teams did both versions, my guess is, the SNES dev team forgot, while the Genesis team remembered. About one of the few things this version got right thanks to Konami being cheap with cart size for this game.

Es un juego completamente distinto al de arcade, además de que le bajaron mucho la dificultad. Aquí es muy sencillo derrotar a Chief Scalpem.
Yo jugué el de SEGA y sin ánimos de ponerme de fangirl este sunset riders es feo a comparar con la belleza del súper Nintendo
Don't know why the Megadrive speech was so crackly as when it says sega on sonic it's so clear the snes version is way better and I was a Megadrive person myself

I think it looks and sound just as good (at least the explosion graphics don't look like they came out from an Atari 2600 :p), but as a game, the SNES version is better.

Damn, this was a bad port. Genesis seems to get short end of stick when it comes to ports.
The snes version is much easier plus it's slow and censored.
While both the Mega Drive and SNES versions sound amazing (Both are considerably close to the arcade), it's clear the SNES version is better, but that's because Konami cheaped out on this cartridge with only a 4 Megabit cartridge. Imagine if it was made later in the Mega Drive lifecycle, where carts up to 32 Megabits were available.
Man but you can not change history, Imagine if, What if...nonses, Snes was much better is obvious much more close to arcade, Megadrive one is a shame ifyou compare with arcade/Snes one.
Didn't matter, Konami still would've cheaped out on cart size. I can't think of one Konami game that was 32 Megabits on either console.

Sinceramente y sin ánimos de ponerme de fangirl este juego lo sentí feo, los colores todo oscuro, el sonido en especial las "voces" simplemente son terribles.
Definitivamente me quedo con el de super Nintendo.

Despite lacking 2 characters and some bosses, SEGA MD version IS SUPERIOR to the snes version.
Sega MD version has:
+ better graphics (better graphics of nature, characters, animals (bulls and horses).
+ women in taverns look like from an adult version (less clothes)
+ you can ride A HORSE
+ you can shoot while standing
+ much better sound (clear)
Snes version has more characters, yes. But snes graphics are INFERIOR, processor of SNES is SLOW, sound of snes is like a mumbling in a jug (not clear), too much censorship, can't ride a horse, animals look like a cartoon.
