Sounds pretty close to me. Of course it's not going to be a carbon copy but they definitely went back to their metalcore roots.

The main riff probably goes further back in time. It also could fit the mid-2000s era.
@@danielzimmer3750 the opening riff reminds me of White Washed by August Burns Red, and the song as a whole definitely fits in with their era of core. Really refreshing to see them go in the direction they have

No if you watch recent concerts there is a "new" bassist, he was already there not long after the "how to survive" album came out.
Raad Soudani, the bassist from Volumes, plays bass with OM&M on tours, but all the recording is still Aaron.

I like how the riffs switch between eras, it's like when you hear a 2000s metalcore song but with a modern touch thrown in between. Absolutely great. Very lit for sure.

Self title and the flood are heavy as hell yet sound completely different. Then outta left field comes restoring force which sounds completely different as a whole. Cold world comes out softer. Defy waaaaayy different ( Austin is gone) and then earth and sky comes out and their sound is like this song. This band has had like 4 different frontmen. They do not sound the same AT ALL. 😂😂🤣 listen to this band more before you talk !

2:05-2:24 makes me want to cry... that soft "oh so impermanent" behind the chugging into the scream with the cymbals... makes me think about how nothing we have or love in life will be with us forever. little moments like this in music are literally what keep me going in life.

Of mice have always been a bigger band than trivium reach wise. But to put their numbers in prospective the top band from our scene BMTH has just about 9mil monthly listeners. At this time last year they were sitting at 4.8, which is TREMENDOUS growth.

Gonna be one of the best EP drops of the 20's, calling it now. OM&M is bringing the heat from the o.g. metalcore days but also keeping it unique and fresh sounding. Feels new, despite having a feeling of nostalgia at the same time. I am so hyped.
Aaron has one of the best singing voices that post hardcore / now metalcore has ever seen. Glad he ended up getting into a much bigger band so his voice could be better appreciated.

Man Aaron's voice never gets old. It's unique and has gotten more powerful it just hits you hard for relief that's how incredible it is. He's been doing good taking over lead vocals.

This pandemic saved music, all these bands are coming out with great work... of mice and men, architects, Chevelle's Peach is awesome we are finally in a paradigm shift that is positive for NEW ROCK/METAL. Tool's success with Fear Inoculum as changed the attitude of industry everything is trending up, I am thankful I thought great music was going to fade away this will inspire younger artists, we should a full pipeline of shit heading are way!
