St Mary's School Chiddingfold Heritage Week, ft Golden Brown, The Stranglers

In September 2023, I served as the artist in residence at St. Mary's CofE School in Chiddingfold. Throughout Heritage week, Cordelia and I dedicated a week to conducting workshops for all the age groups at the school.
Our approach involved tailoring each workshop to a specific theme for the different year groups, fostering engagement and creativity. For the youngest participants, we explored mark-making and music, while the older students delved into the art of printing. The culmination of our efforts resulted in an exhibition held at the school on the final day. Parents and members of the Chiddingfold community were invited to witness the showcased works, accompanied by a film I compiled, documenting the week's activities. Notably, the soundtrack featured "Golden Brown" by The Stranglers, a homage to the band's connection to Chiddingfold.
The experience was immensely rewarding, and I consider it a privilege to have collaborated with the talented students and dedicated teachers of this remarkable school. Click here for further details on the school website.
