Watching this OP in hindsight, you can feel that Shaft wanted this show to go out on a high note when they did this. There's a certain sense of finality here.

The opening really capture how morbid this manga is... Spoiler Alert! The End shows... ... The main girl was dead all along and was possessing all of her classmates who got all of her blood and body parts. So Nozomu marries all of the girls depending on who is being possessed that day.
Not true. This violates several of the rules of Knox's decalogue, which means the author pulled this out of his ass near the end, and there wasn't enough foreshadowing, so you can just accept this or ignore it. cause when he wrote the earlier stuff, he didn't have this twist in mind.

Kafuka died before the series begins and everybody in the class got her organs, then took turns pretending to be her (Why she has different hair styles and mannerisms most episodes) out of a thankfulness to her. Which is also why all the openings eventually have the organs and "linked together" theme, not to mention Kafuka being portrayed as a benevolent buddha, heh. Something that's revealed at the *very end* of the manga.
Now that is some batshit crazy visuals but, I like it. Been kind of bored with the anime I have been watching since they all seem to have visual art styles and as far as personality and story is concerned there hasn't really been anything interesting. But, this seems more experimental and I honestly wish more studios and independent creators would do more stuff like this and if you want to break the norm go balls to the wall otherwise it would not really make an impact. Unlike the other 70%-80% of anime I have seen which all seem to have traits in common and gets kind of old after a while.
Yeah I feel the same. Without Shaft pushing style and Kyoto pushing their insane quality, there aren't many studios that you can just rely on to make interesting content. At least we still have Madhouse and Science SARU. Also recommend Sonny Boy if you want something different. Even though it's gotten a little too metaphysical where it is difficult to understand the stakes of the story, it's at least something challenging and unique. Similar to the Madoka Rebellion film.

The survival and mystery elements kind of like the cage of Eden manga only with no dinosaur's and they have super powers. Could be an interesting watch. As for Modoka I have seen the series but, Haven't watched this particular movie yet. Though it seems to be in line with the plot of the anime.

Each world acts as a vehicle for a commentary on an aspect of a character or the culture. What makes it different is that the world is reacting to the characters, which is cool, but the flexibility of the world and it’s rules makes it difficult to be emotionally invested since you are focused on following the story. Once it finishes I’m planning to rewatch it. The Madoka film’s second half has a similar bending of reality. In that film it has a couple jarring surprises that makes repeat viewings far more emotionally engaging and entertaining than the first watch.

It also, shares a universe with XXXHolic and they interact with each other. That's about a shop that grants wishes in exchange for what people love most. Though I must warn you about Tsubasa as after the you get to the end don't watch the next season, it gets kind on convoluted and not so good.

I think there's also other reasons for not animating that. Kumeta-sensei had a talk with Kamiya-san on Kakushigoto's interview at apex channel, and they talked about zetsubou sensei s4, whether it will continue or not.
Most people nowadays dont even know whats Sayonara, Zetsubou Sensei. I dont think it'll get animated. As for the Monogatari series anime adaptations i say "keep them coming!"
tbh recently ive realized that szs gettting a 4th season really isnt that practical zetsubou-sensei is at its heart a gag manga and its been so long since it ran and ended that most of the jokes are really dated at this point, and as the years go by it gets increasingly unlikely the only thing shaft could do is make either a last season skimming a LOT of the manga or end it as an ova adapting only the ending but hey never stop having hope... right?
