Malus Darkblade became kind of a role-model to me. He isnt an Edgelord, he's the epitome of a survivor, kinda like an evil, fucked-up counterpart to Felix Jaeger. ....And then the End Times butchered them both and cast them aside like worthless trash...Fucking GW and Black Library...
I choose to believe Malus is the true incarnate of Shadows, and the current god we see in Age of Sigmar. I mean think about it; he was the true chosen one of Khaine, and was far more fitting to become a vessel for the winds of magic than Malakith. He just appeared in the mortal realms, saw that Malakith had become kind of a hero to the elves during the End Times, and decided to take his place, supplanting that whiny fuck and becoming the new God of Darkness. He keeps the name because it carries more power than his own ever did.
How about the little brass figurine that could teleport him places? Or the dagger that would rip souls from bodies? I bet that last one would've helped a lot in the Bloodthirster fight. Malus clearly disliked using the relics, the only one he DID like was the warpsword and even then it was mostly out of spite because of what it did to Tz'arkan. I wonder if Timmy is just in a cage beside the recording room just randomly objecting whenever he hears something that doesn't seem to make sense to him only to be yelled at and return to his heroin-induced daze
The treatment of Malus in End Times felt like a massive f.u. to the authors of the Malus novels and the fans. He's death isn't even on screen. He is basically just made fun off and swept aside. Its also written as if Malekith and Morathi haven't even meet him which they most definitively did in the novels.
Deathblade did not do him any favors either... they altered some key parts of his personality and in thebend it was more of a tyrion book than a darkblade book...
I picked up on a few inaccuracies major kill. I have read all the novels several times and I can tell you First the Slaneeshi cult wasn't his mother's it was his half sister and half brothers. He didn't go into the wastes to earn his dads respect he needed to pay back some big debts after all the slaves from his raid were butchered and his investors were going to kill him. His dad didn't steal the dagger to fuck with Malus he didn't even know he was going after it. Other than that I like your work, keep it up!

He was initially Malus's reluctant servant who Malus threatened to kill on numerous occasions but they both developed a genuine bond and friendship with one another, to the point where Malus literally put his soul and future ambitions at risk by saving the poor guy as he lay dying on the ground. The funny banter between those two is also my favorite part about the Malus Darkblade novels.
I feel the need to point out that Malus didn't get in trouble for killing his father because of Druchii society having some kind of law or even taboo against patricide per se; they don't. His father was a servant of Malekith the Witch King: the "Vaulkhar" of Hag Graef, the city's chief military officer and overall 2nd-in-command. It wasn't even that Malus killed him, but that Malus showed no intention of *assuming his responsibilities to Malekith.* That's why Malus was arrested by the Endless (Malekith's personal agents, basically a magic spec ops unit within the Black Guard of Naggarond) and sentenced to go manage the defense of Ghrond.
