    Fabulous tutorial! ❤️ A tip for patterned flannel with no lines to follow for the quilting…after marking the stitch lines with pins at the edges, add painters tape from edge to edge to mark your sewing line!

    Very good and clear instructions. I love flannel, have made lots of baby blankets, but these adult blankets would be great for gifts. I live in Northern Canada so winters are cold.

    I made several blankets from another video of yours where the backing is longer than the top fabric and you frame the entire blanket with the backing. With the mitered corners you demonstrated, it was so easy and efficient. The blankets turned out beautifully. I will try this method too. Thank you for all your ideas and great instructions!

    What perfect timing. I want to make blankets for a drive that starts in January for veterans. Dana's Wanderlust Crochet on YT is sponsoring the drive. I crochet, but I have arthritis and there's no way I can complete twin size blankets in time to send to her. I've never quilted, but I think I can do this simple pattern. Thank you! God Bless!!!! Merry Christmas to you and yours!!

    I have a LOT of fleece blankets to make. I had a hard time keeping the fabric from slipping on my first one. What do you think of using a serger for the initial seam around (so much faster), then turning and topstitching with the regular machine? I don't want the serger stitching to be visible on the edge of the blankets.

    • @TheSewingRoomChannel
      @TheSewingRoomChannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great idea! Yes you can use a serger. Thanks for watching, and happy sewing. 😍

    how do you avoid pleats on quilting sew lines at end

    • @TheSewingRoomChannel
      @TheSewingRoomChannel  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Lee. Make sure you use a walking presser foot. Also scatter safety pins to help keep the fabric from shifting apart while doing the quilt stitches. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching💗and happy holidays😍

    I want to make a lap quilt for my mum for when she's in her wheelchair but I don't want it to heavy so which way would be the best way of making it using batting or fannel

    • @TheSewingRoomChannel
      @TheSewingRoomChannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Cheryl. I would suggest using flannel with the cotton batting over using fleece with cotton batting.

    • @noreenreasor2517

      You could also add tyes to attach to handles so it does not fall off.

    Fleece or flannel?

    • @BrindaOK
      @BrindaOK 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm confused too! We know flannel and fleece are two different fabrics!

    • @TheSewingRoomChannel
      @TheSewingRoomChannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I apologize for the confusion. You can use either fleece or flannel fabric. If you opt to use fleece fabric, you can still use a layer of cotton batting for an extra warm blanket or you can eliminate the cotton batting. It’s completely up to you. 😀
