I was the very first person to live in my freshman and sophomore dorm rooms at Governor's Residence and Ellicott Complex. And I can tell you that it was a LONG time ago! My freshman year was 1973, when the Amherst Campus was basically a mud pit.
Great tour! I lived in several quads during my UB days. Aside from a couple cosmetic upgrades, the furniture and all is the same as when I graduated in 2000!
Served a four years (2004-2008) sentence in Red Jacket. Rooms looked exactly the same, but there was no bathroom code. Still preferred the Governor dining hall.
Yes! In dorms, kitchens are common areas which are often attached to a study lounge. In the kitchen there is a stove, oven, sink, microwave and sometimes a storage closet. With storage closets there is a passcode in which residents of that floor/ building (depending on building you're in) can store kitchen items instead of having it in their rooms where they might not have enough space.
Hi! I unfortunately don’t currently have any access to those rooms, however in the future if I do happen to have access to those dorms I will be sure to take a video. Sorry about that!
Yes you can but with limitations. I suggest using command strips or if you use push pins you have to cover the holes at the end of the year so you don’t get charged for destruction of property (plaster or toothpaste usually works). The limitations are because usual dorm rules state that you can’t cover more than 10% of your wall because it’s a ‘fire hazard’. What people usually do is that they put them up but when the dorm checks happen (they email you in advance) they take them down.

Hey Soy, if someone is interested to prepare food by themselves, they have to do only in kitchen and study lounge right?

Do they still have a dining hall in Richmond and Red Jacket?
Can you please show porters/evans in the Ellicot complex?? I chose it recently for my room selection (triple)

Fargo? In the Ellicott? I lived there in 1983 😂😂😂😂😂 Greetings from Portland, Oregon 🎉
I loved this! Ellicott has had some nice updates since '83. I hope you're enjoying your UB experience as much as I did back in the day! 😁

Thank you!
Hey what is the fee for this dorm?
how many people usually share a bathroom?
on the floor
On each floor and building it varies, but it would easily be over 10 people sharing in a communal bathroom.
