The electric railway (as the Athenians call it) connects the port of Piraeus with the Athens Center since 1869. Initially with steam trains and later in 1904 with electric trains. Neratziotissa Station was inaugurated in 2004, in view of the Olympic Games, to connect the Piraeus-Kifissia line with the suburban line and the OSE network.

Ο ηλεκτρικός σιδηρόδρομος (όπως τον αποκαλούν οι Αθηναίοι ) συνδέει το λιμάνι του Πειραιά με το Κέντρο της Αθήνας από το 1869. Αρχικά με ατμοκίνητα τραίνα και αργότερα το 1904 με ηλεκτρικούς συρμούς. Ο σταθμός της Νερατζιωτισσας εγκαινιάστηκε το 2004 ,εν όψει των Ολυμπιακών Αγώνων, ώστε να συνδέει την γραμμή Πειραιάς-Κηφισιά με την γραμμή του προαστιακού και το δίκτυο του ΟΣΕ
