Would love if you made a video on how to write and submit to residencies for unknown and emerging artists that are trying to break into the art world.
I would greatly appreciate this knowledge, and I’m sure many other artists would as well.

This is very helpful. I had never heard of artenda before. So generous of the open calls that charge no application fee.

OMG I SEE why everyone is loving the doggie- last video he was just resting! You are one of the few TH-cam "art" folks who clearly know the art world I can tell in this video by you warning about the Max Planck (?) one that is very compeitive I would imagine, then you said it.

Perrier appeared well engaged on this subject today… she must have helped on this one by her anticipation and interest….☀️
Julien with the awards for watercolor and portraits… and the landscapes… can you say if only the submitted work is really what is taken into consideration… or if an artist’s whole cv and portfolio are equally considered please?
I am pleased to be on subscription with Artenda… and…I had seen the water color posting… it appears they are looking for a certain style as well… conservative is the only word that comes to mind…? Would my impression be correct with that?
Trust you are getting rest with these increased night hours…much appreciation for this thorough presentation. It’s handing it over on a platter nearly… the rest is up to us… you saved me much time as I could take notes right from the video.
Peaceful happy solstice time for you and all. Sincerely, Janet

Hi Janet, Perrier was indeed as involved as possible in this one 😁 Yes, the CV and portfolio are equally important, and I know from experience and some good sources that with the bigger art prizes, the first selections are based on the resume only. The watercolor prize is indeed a bit more conservative and traditional, but I know many who follow the channel are excatly looking for these prizes as well-hence the inclusion. Wishing you the very best as always. Julien

1:12 .More specific than that - 'The entered work must be a titled landscape painting of Tasmania, and does not have to have been painted in Tasmania'.. 3:01 the Herbert Smith Freehills Portrait Award 2025 Does have an entry fee - Entry into the competition costs £40. Possibly other errors - I didn't bother checking.

Thank you yet again for another great selection of opportunities! Please allow me to point out one slight little thing that I've been noticing in your videos: "idea" is pronounced "eye-dear" in English and not "eye-dee". It is such a tiny thing but as the word comes up often when dealing with art topics I thought I'd mention it so that you know (and do whatever you want with the information 😊)

  • @sacrebleu1371

Isn't the GLOVER specific to landscapes of Tasmania, even though submissions can come from an artist from anywhere?

❤What a pain in th a*s. To any one wanting to be an Artist. No hassle involved, start with a pencil and paper find a jonra and create. Black and White to Color, eventually you will find a niche, if not maybe, your Art could be a writer, and if not maybe you should just sell coffee at th corner coffee shop. Bon appetit ❤ remember one thing, no one is creating, Renoirs' or Reubens' anymore. Those day are long gone, Warhols' too. Great Artist. Live on forevermore Michael Angelos' to Trevor Brighton, it can happen. Keep your pencil sharpened your next artwork could be on that napkin at the diner you eat at. Salut!

I used to go to high school with a guy who had the surname Lagrange. He used to also speak with an extreme amount of confidence on various issues. Whenever he came into contact with someone that had real knowledge of a subject it would be hilarious how quickly Lagrange's arguments and points would fall apart under even the slightest of scrutiny.
