Once again you pick a fantastic, interesting song no one else has done and show us how to do it. Thank you so very much! And your singing is brilliant.
I was just revisiting this the other day and I know Adrian gets this a lot but it seems like he read my mind. So much of Hüsker Dü and the Replacements' songs just sound so nostalgic to me, even the ones that don't directly reference nostalgia.
I’m a two-year guitar player with really only one year of practicing regularly. I liked Husker before seeing this video, but this song is now easily one of my all-time favorites and so is the band. It’s been really fun playing this song as best I can for a few months. Thanks for a great lesson!
NDR is my drive fast as hell in the country side must listen too. I am from MN...was fortunate to see DU many times and Bob a few times on his own since. What I can say is in MN...summer is NEVER wasted... Every day is a chance for fishing, water skiing, BBQ, romance...fighting...everything and anything but sitting still. I remember being sad when the first snowfall fell...late October-early Nov. Love this song.
Hello Fellow Midwesterner! I'm a Wisconsinite myself - who also has seen Bob and HD and Sugar a number of times. I've always see Bob's version of the celebrated Summer, as the the last summer of youth. It's so glorious but melancholy at the same time.
I saw em in PHX AZ USA in '83. Bob said "Hi, we're Hüsker Dü" They played 18 songs in a half hr. We were gonna riot if they didn't play some more, so they did another 10 minutes, debuting a then brand new song, Chartered Trips.
Fucking. Epic. I knew you'd get around to Husker Du eventually, and as it turns out this is my all-time favorite Husker tune. Thank you so much for this!
I attended art school in Minneapolis during the renaissance of Prince, Replacements, Husker Du and more great bands who were never heard or fell prey to drugs. Husker Du were amazing studio or live. Bob Mould esp was an inspiration and friend of friend. So glad to see you picking up on their psychedelic hardcore achievement
I LOVE "It's a little bit high for me but I don't care." Thank you!!! It's rock and roll. Just jump in! And I thought your vocals were great. Nice job! And, as always, another great song choice. I love Bob Mould and his many projects / bands. He's a great song writer and guitar player.
Number one--you fucking rock This track is significant as the first track with intentional use of melancholy. No, this was not a sellout. 1985 was Husker-halcyon. Pre-Warner Bros. No possibility of selling out. This epoch was only about the magic of a band becoming an exotic gem. Again, You Rock🤍
Adrian, being a guitar player for half of my life. i think you're work is inspiring guitarists world wide. i got burned out with guitar after studying jazz for 5 years and your transcriptions are making me feel the way i felt the first time i've picked up a guitar. if yçu ever put out a guitar book with all your transcriptions i will buy it instantly. you're playing and taste are impeccable. thank you for making the world a better place. you're really one of a kind. keep up the good work. cheers from belgium
I’ve been hoping for a Husker Du piece for a while. I saw them live in Houston, TX in the 80s following the release of their album Flip Your Wig. Fun, high energy band with some real gems! Thanks Adrian!
OH YEAH! If you ever want to turn this into an Hüsker Dü series I believe Makes no sens at all would be a nice track to play. Cheers from Montréal, Canada.
Great choice Adrian! -- one of the most notable songs from the Husker Dü years. Other good ones to cover are: Don't Want To Know if You Are Lonely, Could you be the one, Ice Cold Ice, Pink Turns Turns to Blue, New Day Rising, 8 Miles high.
I just found this channel the other week and I loved that it had a lot of my favorite bands and now this video exists, just further earning that subscribe I clicked the other week.
Probably my favourite Hüsker Dü song and you do it brilliantly!! I saw them a couple of times - Leeds Uni and Glastonbury. At Glastonbury I gave Greg Norton a chocolate brownie when I met him wandering in the crowd after their set.
Well done! This is one of my favourite band! It would be great if you made cover on the other Hüsker Dü songs. For example, you could try “Everything Falls Apart”, “Something I Learned Today”, “Games” or “Dead Set On Destruction”.
Thanks so much for this one! I’d love to see you do any number of other Hüsker songs, maybe Girl Who Lives On Heaven Hill, Ice Cold Ice, or Don’t Want to Know if You Are Lonely. Also, I’d love it if you’d do Answering Machine by the Replacements, such a beautiful guitar piece, like Hüsker Dü but in open A.
I have listened to more Husker Du this summer than any other band (except maybe The Replacements). Beautiful cover and lesson! Thanks for making my Friday!
There are not enough Thumbs to click Up on for this video. Hüsker Dü is one of my favorite bands ever. Love that you sang it too. How can you not? The song is made for belting out at the top of your lungs! Do you remember!
Oh wow I have an ac30 and use the rat as well. I wasn’t sure if you were just going straight in and upping the gain or using a pedal. Sounds great thanks for the walk through !
Go Adrian your a man of many talents.good luck to you.yep a fantastic intro, good song choice.your always different and that's great.keep up the quality work.
@anyonecanplayguitar Where have you been all my life. Love your musical taste and style of presentation when it comes to playing. A London boy and huge fan of the Du myself. Thanks so much for this 👍 Like Christmas all over again 😂 SUBSCRIBED!
Another great Husker Du tune is 'Target'. Bob Mould's guitar style is described as 'buckshot'. The coolest player to wield a Flying V. The perfect guitar for him and his incredible tone. You're my favorite TH-camr. Eclectic taste in your choice of song covers.
Holy moly your singing is so good
You can search his band The Inky Depths on Spotify to hear more.
Anytime you want to do Hüskers, Sugar, solo Bob Mould is just fine with me. Excellent work!
Once again you pick a fantastic, interesting song no one else has done and show us how to do it. Thank you so very much! And your singing is brilliant.

Husker du!!! Probably the best band in that times !!!

New day rising is an absolute incredible album

What a story!
@@wide_awake41 years ago. Bob is still putting out worthy songs.
Fucking. Epic. I knew you'd get around to Husker Du eventually, and as it turns out this is my all-time favorite Husker tune. Thank you so much for this!

Another example why you have the best lessons. Thank you!

Are you kidding me!!!? I had no idea that you could sing like that! So good!!!
Yes, more Husker Du please! Sugar as well!
Number one--you fucking rock

Again, You Rock🤍
Love this
I'd say I'm Never Talking to you Again would be their first melancholic track, but anyway (plus, it's an acoustic song)

Dang, you got a great singing voice man!
I’ve been hoping for a Husker Du piece for a while. I saw them live in Houston, TX in the 80s following the release of their album Flip Your Wig. Fun, high energy band with some real gems! Thanks Adrian!
Was not expecting that voice, well done!
That's magic! Great playing and singing. Love Hoosker Doo😉
...though I've never actually heard this song before.
Holy crap wasn't expecting that voice! Amazing guitar sound too, great stuff. God damn I'd love to hear you do a full band run through of this.
really taken aback by your singing, dude! what a voice
From time to time I come back to this lesson just to hear you singing this killer song. Love it!
Yes thank you for this! Saved me a lot of time figuring this cover on my own.
I watched this ages ago (could've sworn it was more than 3 years) great cover!
Love listening to you play the songs even if i don't learn it
Yes. New Day Rising is one of my favourite albums. Thanks for this.
I enjoyed this , thank youl. Song of my youth and very close to where this band is from. Thanks again.
My favorite Husker Du song! Thank you.
Coiled Spring you bloody legend. What a cover. I love it!
Great lesson ! Yes, more Bob Mould ! Wishing well would be great.
love it. thanks for the lesson. not sure if i can pull it off, but i'll try! Love Husker Du!!!
That opening riff has haunted me for decades. Thanks for demystifying it!
I have to say, every time I see the Jazzmaster on the video cover, I click and watch! As always, a great tutorial
My favourite song from the Huskers. Well explained as usual. Thanks
You have some of the best song selections for your tutorials. Thank you for these videos
This is great, one of my favorite Hüsker Dü songs! Do more!
This is ace, breaking it down to simplicity and admitting it’s hard to always get what Bob was doing exactly 👍
OH YEAH! If you ever want to turn this into an Hüsker Dü series I believe Makes no sens at all would be a nice track to play. Cheers from Montréal, Canada.
Mould and Hart are an amazing pair. Great song!
RIP Grant Hart

Ice cold ice is one of my all time favorite. Warm bravo to Adrian, his rendition is full of soul, it was great !
Thank you Adrian for taking time to make these great videos!
I just found this channel the other week and I loved that it had a lot of my favorite bands and now this video exists, just further earning that subscribe I clicked the other week.
There goes my afternoon. Thank you for this.
Adrian, great playing (as ever) and today I discover what a GREAT singer you are too, Fantastic stuff.
Excellent choice of a song, one of my favorite Husker Du songs. Excellent lesson as usual!
More! Love the bands you are choosing lately! X, Husker Du, etc I only need more!
Probably my favourite Hüsker Dü song and you do it brilliantly!! I saw them a couple of times - Leeds Uni and Glastonbury. At Glastonbury I gave Greg Norton a chocolate brownie when I met him wandering in the crowd after their set.

YES! Please more Huskar Du! "Don't wanna know" is a classic banger it would be awesome if you could do one for that song.
Kickass! Thanks for teaching us cool stuff on guitar!
God that sounds amazing. Husker Du forever!
Thanks so much for this one! I’d love to see you do any number of other Hüsker songs, maybe Girl Who Lives On Heaven Hill, Ice Cold Ice, or Don’t Want to Know if You Are Lonely. Have you read Trouble boys, great book about The replacements.
Great lesson!! Husker Du, are some of the trickier songs to learn.
You did good on the vocals! I certainly can't get there with my voice. Nice pick this week, listened to this album a lot back in the day.
Love Hüsker Dü. The guitar tone on New Day Rising is crazy.
Me too, I love Mould's tone. I definitely need to recreate it.
@@ITheNightmare If you plug in your guitar into an analog mixer and use a distortion plugin you can get that white noisy sound
I like your selections, Adrian.👍🏻
Fantastic choice, as usual. And, your singing is brilliant.
Great song, and you did it great justice!
Great lesson! Yes more Hüsker Dü please!
The great Bob Mould. Also …Great singing Adrian!!!
Amazing! Another one of my all-time favorite songs. I'm so grateful for this video Adrian.

My Fav Track from New Day Rising great video
Excellent, I love this song and you’re a very good teacher……..
Great song and great lesson! Would be cool if you did "Don't Want To Know if You Are Lonely" or Sugar's "If I Can't Change Your Mind" next.
I think 'If I can't change your mind' is one of the greatest songs ever written...
Oh wow I have an ac30 and use the rat as well. I wasn’t sure if you were just going straight in and upping the gain or using a pedal. Sounds great thanks for the walk through !
Great song choice as always. It really sets this channel apart from the rest.
Yes yes yes. I have been wanting someone to do this for ages and ages.
You've got some fine pipes, Adrian! You're a double threat!
Hoping Adrien will teach us to play Bed of Nails of Husker Du later! Nice work, thx! Really great song, pitiful the band isn't widely known
Very nice job on an amazing song!
“…but I don’t care.”. Love that! Great lesson
I love this song. Your video's have been a huge help in getting used to playing guitar more (I'm a bass player) keep it up.
Go Adrian your a man of many talents.good luck to you.yep a fantastic intro, good song choice.your always different and that's great.keep up the quality work.
Brilliant lesson, you sir are a exelent all rounder thanks for this
Let’s go!!!! Fantastic, great version brilliant tune
Hearing an instrument isolated from the rest of the band can make you like that instruments part better.
and yes please more Husker du!
Loved the singing!
That was amazing. Thank you!
Nothing wrong with that rendition at all. Awesome playing and singing.
Thanks for this! I was just listening to New Day Rising yesterday.
@anyonecanplayguitar
Where have you been all my life.
Love your musical taste and style of presentation when it comes to playing.
A London boy and huge fan of the Du myself.
Thanks so much for this 👍 Like Christmas all over again 😂

Super-satifying to learn this. Thank you again!
Mould’s subtle phrasing in the solo is incredible.
Btw, his distortion was the MXR Distortion +. The Rat is definitely akin to it.
Great lesson! Be great to see a lesson for Chartered Trips!
Also such a good singer you are! 👏
Great job mate, love Husker du.
Awesome mate. Sounded absolutely great.
you rock bro
Pushing the edge of your higher range really suited the song and to me you never once wandered, very enjoyable 😎🎙🎸✅
Great stuff. When you come back, could we have some Replacements please?
Another great Husker Du tune is 'Target'. Bob Mould's guitar style is described as 'buckshot'. The coolest player to wield a Flying V. The perfect guitar for him and his incredible tone. You're my favorite TH-camr. Eclectic taste in your choice of song covers.
Great song and lesson. More Husker Du or Bob Mould please!
