Every time I hear about someone else's experience with gender, gender expression, and sexuality its like being given another puzzle piece. Not every piece fits into the puzzle of me, but otherwise it's like not even realizing some pieces were missing.
I have most recently been obsessed with Ellen Page's Gaycation series. The scene when they are in Brazil and talking to a guy who has murdered multiple LGBT+ people and Ellen asks them if she should tell him she's gay was so incredibly powerful and terrifying to watch. It's a really awesome way to see the differences in the view of LGBT+ persons between countries. i really hope they do more seasons and make them easier to get a hold of.
This was a great video in what looks like is shaping out to be a great series. I wanted to touch on the healthcare part a bit. Healthcare in general needs work. Even in places where it may seem like they have things figured out, like Canada, there are still issues.I live in the states and can't afford even the most basic of insurance plans. For me to get onto an affordable dental plan I would have to get married, which is something I never want to do, and submit both my partners and my taxes.

My favorite LBGT+ movie was Tomboy, it came out when I was fourteen and just beginning to figure out my own gender identity and I didn't even have a word for transgender then, living in suburban Texas, but I watched it because it popped up on my netflix feed and I realized I wasn't alone, and I wasn't a freak for being not a girl when everyone thought I was. That I think may have even started me looking into gender identity and figuring stuff out for the very first time.
Awesome video! Great to see a non-US perspective too -- and to highlight amazing victories for trans rights in countries US folks often don't look to to find great policy (like Argentina's Gender Identity Law).
