An interesting fact about 70 and 71 is that they are actually built to the same class as East Broad Top 16. They are both Baldwin standard class 12-28 1/4e. The only differences between them are road specific modifications. 70 was modified to have a more modern appearance, while EBT 16 was given southern valve gear and a different design for the sand domes.
