He could even profit from this format if turned into a complete season of "boardtelling"
@@Hevletica I really wanna see a like 10 episode uncensored series of Quintel just reading storyboards of episodes that weren’t OK’d, or episodes he scrapped. Would be interested
@@calvin7978 Great thought my man!

This isn't J.G pitching the episode. This is Mordecai pitching the episode whilst referring to himself in the third person.
Mordecai remembering his past experience.
4:12 The way he did that was spot on
I used to be able to recite this entire script by heart, Regular Show is one of my favorite shows and a cherished memory
He does a good impression of Mordecai. if only the real voice actor could hear that impression.

God, it really amazes me how this man literally didn’t even put on a voice or other personality to do mordecai, it’s quite literally just him reading a script into the camera, which is funny in its own way.
They actually do this because it’s insanely hard for voice actors to copy someone’s actual voice! That’s why the voice actor of fry on futurama is the creator aswell!
@@austinperez7640 rlly? Never knew that
@@thekidwhodoesnothing7512 he actually wasn’t the creator but the voice acting part I did remember correctly, it insured that they couldn’t replace him
Can't believe he managed to sell stoner comedy to 10-year-olds
yooooo 😭😭
He wanted to make a show for Adult Swim but Cartoon Network execs thought it would be better if he made a show for Carton Network and aimed at teens
If it’s good for stoners it’s good for everyone.
You ever heard of Scooby-Doo?
@@ChrisXIllustratesXGaming Shows like this and scooby doo aren't stoner comedy, it's just that all cartoons appeal to stoners lol. But in the case of shaggy he is definitely meant to be a stoner and mordecai and rigby are lazy/idiotic/underachievers so they have some stoner traits.
When I first saw The Power back in 2010, I was like "I'm sold. Bring on episode 2". The dialogue and Mordecai and Rigby's chemistry quickly became iconic. My friends and I couldn't stop quoting our favorite lines from the episode. I know it ended well but I still miss the show.
It’s insane how this one episode is so heavily ingrained in my brain, I quote this episode almost daily since I saw it over 10 years ago
His voice and Mordechai's voice are so similar but yet so distinctively different. That subtle change he makes in his voice makes such a difference
I think you are referring too sound engineering.
@@jm4509 no... he is narrating, but when he talks as Mordecai his voice sounds different
He is voice acting mordecai
@@King_3398 L pfp
@@SDASermons I think he just speaks more expressively when voicing Mordecai
I've seen "The Power" probably like 20 times, and it's insane how the episode is almost a carbon copy of this rough storyboard, even down to the tone of the sound effects JG makes. There were only a few things that were different, like how Rigby didn't hambone on pops but instead stole the keyboard from a wizard that left it unguarded while taking a piss.
Sucks they cut that, really smart callback to a funny joke
Yeah, I could do without the piss wizard. Pizzard is pretty mid, but I’m guessing they didn’t want Rigby to assault Pops since the guy’s disabled thanks to a TBI. Like yeah, Pops is beat up a lot, but not for a pilot episode for kids when parents are totally going to watch.
@@urgae9125idk man, the Wizards moan and zipper sound effect while he's wearing a robe still cracks me up.
@@urgae9125 "Like yeah, Pops is beat up alot, but not for a pilot episode for kids when parents are totally going to watch" Literally, pizzard is so much more non-ff

The fact that all those post it notes are one single episode is insane. Regular Show really did raise me. I’d love to see a reboot someday.

Re-watching the series at 22 is giving me so much happiness.
I have seen this episode so much because it's my favorite that I could hear their dialogue and all the music in my mind.
Such a great episode
Man just pitching the episode seems exhausting physically and mentally.
you gotta really love your work. and be comfortable pitching infront of everyone, to be honest that first couple giggles makes you feel at ease
@@welpiguess I don't think I would ever be able to do this. Pitching an idea of something that I felt very close to me, to a bunch of quiet executives inside a room would cause me to have a mental breakdown. The anxiety coursing through my body would be enough for me to not even pitch it in the first place.
@@marcomendex8780 you have to be conscious at the fact that you're in charge in that room, they're all listening to you, you control the story line you control what they are watching when they can talk the duration of the pitch. i think once you sort of come aware of that fact the anxiety goes away to some extent but regardless you'll still have those nervess, you might have a really good idea that the world is missing out of because of anxiety
I’m literally treating this video as if it’s a massive elaborate joke that JG is explaining to a group of friends and this makes both that pilot episode and this storyboard skit so much more funny.
I'll never forget when my mom first got into watching Regular Show. I'd been watching it and I got the season 1&2 DVD. I remember watching it and she came in as the song "Hangin' Tough" By New Kids on the Block was playing during the montage of the Broken Bonez arcade game and she watched the rest of the episode with me. She watched a couple more and got hooked so now both of us love it. She is a HUGE New Kids fan and instantly recognized the song even after only hearing like 3 seconds of the beat.
JG Quintel just having the voice of Mordecai as his natural voice makes this pitch feel so much more genuine and natural. It’s amazing.
He drew all of this like he's trying to picture a dream, and then put it on a wall.
And he looks very very enthusiastic to show them. What a legend.
I would seriously watch an Adult Swim version where none of the cusses are censored...it would be really good....Regular Show was ahead of it's time and it definitely was a big part of my childhood
