Hey TJ! I’m Luigi from Italy 🇮🇹 In all modern GT cars an extra set of lights is provided that is needed for cars that have to run in endurance races where at least one part is raced at night, for example 12h or 24h. In “sprint” races they are not needed because of course you run during the day, and the builders give the opportunity to remove them to save weight! I hope I helped you 🥰
I came to comment the exact same thing! I've just got back from the nurburgring 24hr race and all the cars had extra lights for night time and all of the gt3 cars flash them rapidly when approaching a slower car!
The magnet in the bumper is actually a part of the active aero. Instead of having electronics that weigh a bunch, they use specialized magnets that are tuned to open the flaps when the car is going a certain speed to increase airflow into the engine bay and intake inlets
Then why is it made of fiberglass instead of carbon? Also it is on the back side of the wheel well so it would be "sucking" not opening a port for more air to move through the engine bay.
@@MX304my guess would be that the magnet could be set up either way, to either assist in the “push” open with the addition of enough added air pressure. Or a “pull” closed to hold closed until enough air pressure is added to push it open with some type of return closed mechanism/spring.
Never doubted this crew would find a way to make this work. That fab work Kyle did is CLEAN. Those front fender support brackets look excellent because not only did he give them a nice design beyond function, he cleaned it all up and seemingly gave it a semi-polished finish. Above and beyond.
If you can, share the amount of hours spent in labor of every vlog so we have an idea about the true effort. You guys show it as a "easy" project but that requires effort. Let's go!
So idk if it helps... But we converted a Audi to a gt3 at our shop and to clear alot of the points the hood was hitting.. we actually got rid of the Motos mounts and gapped the cross member and lowered the entire engine by 3 inches.. it gave us a ton of room and took half the time of building a custom hood. Obviously we made new motor mounts for this tow ork. But our fabricator knew his stuff and made it work. Just a thought And in doing that it also got more of the weight closer to the ground.. which really helps on Audis because the engines sit so far in front of the front axle
Seeing that mega expensive, ,mega designed BMW Carbon being cut up has been making me wince throughout this build (knowing how much I've paid for tiny carbon bits for my E and F series M3's, but seeing the workmanship, re-design, custom re-manufacture and care that's gone into making this project work is an absolute delight. Teamwork makes the Dreamwork. Never a truer statement. Thanks for the video TJ & the Team.
Havent watched a video in years it was refreshing to watch you again. I remember watching back in like 2016/2017 and getting the Hunt or be Hunted tshirt. Youve come so far! Congratulations
You and Street Hunter should definitely use the kit you have in hand, along with all of the knowledge you're gaining from making this fit the street car, and make a body kit that replicates the styling of the GT3 kit but is a straight bolt on kit for the masses. Easy money with the Bimmer boiz $$$$
You should paint all the fab work the same color as the car, it will look nearly factory, that fabrication work is top notch, keep those standards up for that sick car.
Hey TJ! As far as the liner magnets if I’m not wrong, they should be the place where the TPMS modules sit for each tire. I work for a GT3 team that races Mercedes and although are cars are not the same, on the backside of the fender liners we have a spot specifically for our TPMS boxes very similar to that and they just get plugged into a harness that runs by it. These race cars are so cool and technical, blew my mind first working on them!!
I just went to watch a gt3 race at COTA in Austin, and seeing one of these cars in person was nuts. The GT3 m4 is insane, the side dump exhaust looks insane, the real hood and all the vents are unreal. The cameras and all these videos although great do not give it justice
I love the idea of glass cut outs on the hood, maybe even BRG accents in the hood with carbon so you can see both through the hood. It looks insane!!!!Maybe make metal panels that cover all the extra hoses and electrical and paint it BRG(or make it carbon if the hood doesn’t stay carbon) in the engine bay.
We have the exact same way of 3D Mapping/Modelling at my work with the reflective dots etc, but we use it for pipeline corrosion etc. Crazy the ways everything is adapated and used for loads of different things.
Lexan or Perspex hood windows were the air vent would be? Give you a unique view of the engine. Just a thought bit like a clear clutch cover on a motorcycle. Thoughts?
Okey guys!! Lets get SERIOUS how safe is this car with most of it's original panels removed, cut and mangled and without a roll cage which is what brings safety to the race car allowing panels to be so thin and light, because they are not structural even thou some people think Carbon fiber must be since it's so stiff
Also Airbag sensors need refitting or removal, refitting will imply reomologation for an automaker and this built will definitively be ilegal in Spain and some other Euro countries
@@MX304 I gave you that, I always think about cars as if they were going to be daily by me jajajajaja I am like.... come on porsche give me access to the engine I will change the sparkplugs my self to save a couple bucks jajajaj
TJ The goal of this build is to duplicate them on a street car and produce them? Something will be wrong with the wheel fitment if you don't get offset tables forward so the wheel are in the right spot.
I don’t think that’s his goal! I think this is purely for himself and the crew to see if they can actually accomplish it. I’m about 99% sure they don’t plan on doing this for anyone else
Nahhhh buddy street hunter would be doing there complete own design if that was the case ya know. I think this is more of a one off for content and some what of a blue print if anyone wants to try and accomplish.
I think if you painted all of the metalwork British racing green, it would be hard to tell the difference between factory Kyle's work. Keep up the quality
TJ Hunt Awesome Video I'm glad your M4 GT3s Front End finally done and I can't wait to see the finishing touches and I think it's crazy that you have cut so much of the hood
Man I totally love the factory widebody carbon kit....I do wish someone would come out with a fiberglass/urethane version of this with ducting designed for streetcars. It's a shame I doubt that will ever happen, seems like a missed opportunity but bmw doesn't care about that
What would be cool is a reverse hood thing. Instead of taking a stock hood and cutting it and then adding CF, take a CF hood and cut up the stock hood and use the metal as inserts to the CF hood. Keeping the BRG on the CF finish.
Though you don't want to lose the venting aspect - Would be sick to see some of that green in the cut-outs you guys made. Could be a simpler option or a backup
Bro, he bought benedict a new car. You really think he wouldnt buy Calvin one if he wanted/talked about it? Ever since Calvin wrecked his supra he hasnt talked about doing ANYTHING with new cars, which is lowkey sad. I agree though, would be nice to see him with a new project
Yellow Fog Lights are a must, shouldnt be that hard to manufacture a plexiglas cutout for that, think that would look awesome. And i kinda like the Idea seeing this without a Wing, just with a Ducktail for example.
seeing kyle come out of his cave and get comfy and drop these jokes is awesome lmao, love these videos

@Kyle Lumm ⬆️ is doing the hardest part of this entire build..
