Top video mate, what wire do you tap into for the LED’s in the doors. Do you have a photo ? Cheers
Thanks mate, I don’t and it colour varies on chassis, but it’s the illumination wire for the window switch etc 👍 hope that helps

hey, nice build buddy! what are the name of these wheels? just bought an E39 myself and looking for some cool wheels. What is the name of these, and do you have any advice for other good lokking wheels for e39?

Paint wasn’t great in general, but it was a daily so we weren’t bothered at all 👍
Looking good so far, any plans to tidy the body?
To be totally honest with you, not really, we will be using this car as a work horse, it’s already transported numerous oily engines in the boot, trailered our other cars about and just generally going to get used and abused, mechanically it will be cared for but body work is unlike to see much attention if we are being brutally honest!

@@simonturner10 problem is it’s been neglected a lot of it’s life and I don’t want a mint daily as I also abuse my daily run abouts with engine collections, trailering etc! So I can’t justify a mint daily. Maybe I’ll tidy it before I sell it but I don’t see myself selling it for a while yet.

Was a genuine sport bumper from a breakers called Rotrip in Alton - Simon is the man to talk to 👍
How did u lower it? I know the cheapest suspension is like $1500
Cheap Coilovers on the front, rear still on air, tapped into with BMW Software to lower it down 👍

It might be a £500 💩box, but you don't need to do a £500 💩job. As a BMW e39 Touring owner I found this difficult to watch. After scrappage scheme we have hardly any of these vehicles left and we need to preserve as many as possible.
I’m sorry you found this, as an E39 M5 owner I agree we need to preserve them but this one was old rusty & worn, hence the way it got treated.

Lots of healthy spare panels still kicking around that won't take long to replace and respray. If you won't take care of this vehicle - who will, before it ending up sold on and then most likely scrapped in a couple of years? It is obvious they've declared a war on internal combustion engines with these insane fuel prices, especially on diesel cars, with diesel costing 20p more than petrol as of today - nevermind it is more expensive to produce petrol than diesel. Double rip-off.
And I would be surprised if Westminster freaks didn't come with yet another scrappage initiative to get rid of all petrol/diesel cars, offering heavily subsidised electric cars. Great time to have an electric vehicle - with them talking about hypothetical blackouts and forever increasing electricity price. Grid wouldn't be able to cope, and we apparently have only 30% of capacity to produce enough electricity to charge electric cars if every family had them, and that number was named before Putin started cutting off cheap gas and oil.
If course, we won't be able to save all e39s, but if now you'd just look around and find one - I'm genuinely worried that within 10 years there won't be any left, or at an exuberant price, like your M5 now.
