The scene is haunted me my whole life. I saw it when I was 12, yep way too early, but I always wondered why it Disturbed me so much. I finally realized that it wasn't just the brutality, it was the non-realistic reaction to being shot. Let's start with his hand coming off, his artery is open for business, his blood pressure is dropping, and there is no way on Earth he's going to be standing up. Then there are the multiple shotgun blasts that hit his fairly skinny body, let's be perfectly honest about just how quickly he would have hit the ground after the first or second IMPACT. Basically making him stand up and receive all the gunfire made this scene all the more horrific because he simply would not be able to do that, our minds rebel without non-belief. Paul Verhoven wanted this to be the most brutal murder we've ever seen, and by straining the boundaries of human physiology he did it. I still can't watch this movie all the way through, the scene just freaks me out.
Yes! I love RoboCop as a film but I love the reactions I have seen to the film as well as. Glad you’re doing this movie now. I hope we get a mashup to RoboCop POV as he is being built.
The Screen Junkies' Honest Trailer for this movie is so freakin' hilarious. Great job with the mash up. Crazy to all the reactors go silent and wide eyed as he is getting shot up.
You make these scared faces and I was 16 years old watching this scene in a movie theater hahaha I thought it was awesome!!!! The most brutal scene ever seen from the 80s...
Hey my brother thanks man for this. This scene is so fucking sad and disturbing I feel so bad for Murphy thank God he was reborn to part man part machine all cop the future of law enforcement.... ROBOCOP 🔥🔥✊🏻
Thanks for the feedback. The watermark isn't just there to prevent people from downloading and editing the video, although that’s part of it. The main reason it’s so prominent is because TH-cam’s copyright system can be very strict. Having a clear watermark actually helps reduce the chances of the video getting flagged or taken down for copyright issues. It’s not ideal, but it’s necessary to keep the content up and running. I hope you understand.
@@ReactsMashup No worries bro, I thought about that too after my comment. TH-cam's algorithm is very rigid. Umm have you tried maybe putting that watermark on each corner of the video being watched, all four of them, to see if that works? (With a smaller font of course) I can still somewhat see the content being watched, but it kind of lessens the video when you can't see that well what people are reacting to. Anyways, I still liked the video, was fun to watch the original Robocop again, thank you!
also i couldn't help but laugh at the two asian ladies at the top always talking, but when shit got real they shut up but then all the other guys start talking xD
I LOVE this movie, but please post more clips from it asap, I don't like this clip being the latest one... I hated seeing Murphy get killed... Please make the next release clip a sequence where Robocop whoops a$$!
Im totally okay with horror movies, slashers etc... but this one is so strange i think they have gone too far with this one and it actually added absolutely nothing to the story, i wasnt born when robocop first released so i have no clue on how people reacted to it back then. I doubt they were okay with it.
@@doop8436 its not about being a sadisc or not. Murphy got shot for like 30 seconds, no one survives for even 5 seconds, he lost a limb, and with all that he got no shock. They still put a bullet in his head. That adds absolutely nothing to the story. The scene should be like 3 or 4 shots max, and maybe a shot in the face. Since he was "dead" they couldnt know his face so it could be hidden without using it as excuse for a hole on his forehead.
@@PedroSavioo people have been shot alot before and survived.. 50 Cent got shot 9 times and still lives.. People have survived when they have had arrows sticking all way through head.. People survived many times when you think they would die..
By far, the most brual murder of a protagonist on screen and this was an 80s film.
Strongly agree
80's movies hit differently
Don't kid yourself, this movie hits differently. It is a standalone, for any decade.
The brutality of that scene was better than anything horror movies have been trying to create for years.
Robocop is a masterpiece of a movie. Alex Murphy martyrdom was impressive and lay the foundation for the essence of robocop, as a phoenix bird.
Clarence Boddicker is one of the best villains played by Kurtwood Smith. "Can you fly Bobby?"
“Bitches leave” 😂
Well, Bobby shouldn't have burned the money.
@@periechontology he had to blow up the door, what do you want!?
This is a cinema. Satire, commentary, action, brutality, story, characters. Sheesh
I saw this movie when I was 9. I was not prepared. 😳
Still one of the best sci-fi movies. They really don’t make movies like this anymore.
Man that was brutal AF. I have seen this scene a few times and it still makes me squeamish.
"Good night, Sweet Prince. Hahahahahahahaha"
Many pre-teens who saw this back in the day are now fully traumatized adults.

And you'll get it
I watched this scene when I was 6 years old, and it took me a long time to watch the whole movie because of it.
It was Lewis's call to go in, that cowboy attitude got Murphy killed.
Plus she let that henchman zip it up while checking him out, too.
I liked the villain he’s the dad on.., That 70’s Show. I used to get Kurtwood Smith and Michael Ironside mixed up because they looked similar.
Yeah, Kurtwood Smith was amazing in Total Recall.
This is one of the scenes that had to be edited a bit for the movie to get an R rating.
Clearance Bondicker and his gang just make their worst mistake of their lives in this very moment.
They created their own worst death and destruction.
Especially Emil. Death by toxic waste!
@capricornblack3450 That one scared me as a kid.

I remember watching this as a kid.
Give the man a hand!
They're acting like they wouldn't have done the same when they definitely would 💀
They had to cut this scene down a bit to avoid the NC-17 rating. The original cut was worse.

Una joya y clásico de los 80's
Sin mencionar que también se lució con los movimientos Cyborgs
WTF!!! All of them cringe at the gunshot to Murphy's hand?

Awesome video.
Still remember this very particular...its really disturbed me cause i'm still about 10 yo when i 1st saw robocop 1...its really affect me a lot!
That was violent 😖
Officer Murphy will be reborn as Robocop and created by OCP
These millenials will need major therapy!
Actually Zoomers( Gen Z). But yeah they’re definitely going to need it lol.
I mean they take Murphy like he's a fucking mob boss.

Clarence acting really brought the movie to life.
I dont know that actor's real name.
