This video brings back fond and exciting memories for me. I took my MBA from the Asian Inst. Of Mgt. in the late 70's. At that time our school had an working collaboration with HBS. The backbone of our school's teaching method was the Case Method. Our Dean at that time was Dr. Stephen Fuller of HBS. What it taught me is never to shoot down any idea no matter how absurd it may be at the start. What is so wonderful is to see the gradual evolution of ideas that will bring you to a better decision.

Gosh. When i was in college my professor gave us a case and then he’ll let us read, analyze, and prepare to give recommendation after 4 hours. We didn’t have much time to do it all. So our discussion is so boring and we arrived in conclusions that needed more discussion and more reading and analyzing. I like HBS style and would love to go here someday. My dream school. Hoping and praying.

Outstanding. Having been president of several businesses of varying types and sizes, I am always encouraged to see such intentionality and passion in means and methods for teaching deeper, wider and higher thinking. The HBS Case Method models metacognitive skills required for war rooms, board rooms and c-suite offices. Though uploaded in 2009, this message remains fresh for today and tomorrow. Thank you.

That structure is critical to bring into the classroom in order to develop the necessary skills for the real business world. Decisions have to be made, and the best way to learn about what works and what doesn't is experiencing it first hand. What they are incorporating into the classroom is an expansion of what can be learned by shadowing someone in a business and getting an internship. I encourage this atmosphere to continue.

the problem I have with business school students is that they come to their new jobs, and say, "this answer is the way we did it in school, so this answer is the way we should do it at work"
The problem with that mindset is that, at school nobody is saying no to your textbooks or case study answers, but at work, the competition, the stakeholders, and everybody is saying Hell No with money on the line.
Business school students need to learn how to win with plan b, with plan c, with plan z.

Marketing new NutraSweet? Competition, prices war etc
    How?
I need to start my ad with something novel/new that really contribute in answering the most recent issues on why less peoples are attracted to buy non-mono, dwi, poli sugar?
Some health issues correction in my ad maybe?
Price & volume saving per cup of tea/coffee?
Or maybe...a sincere ad for emotional buyer such as " a sugar that doesn't makes u feels guilty" 🤪 something like this 🤗
In terms of price, have it less than the existing brands, to attract customers first, then when the brands are already trusted, have an almost equal price to others.

I like how they have their names in front of them. I have had a couple of times when I had two almost identical students. M.

This video is great, why can't other universities have these sort of videos for different faculties?

I fly over it, occasionally. Harvard is a lemon that's not worth the squeeze. Air Force Academy and MIT, baby!

wow. the discussion during the second half of the video looks like alot of fun. does Harvard Business School accept slackers?

I feel like the guy near the beginning is missing the point of the case method. Going into the discussion with firm opinions and just agreeing/disagreeing with people kind of defeats the purpose. It’s not a debate class.

It's very hard to get past the HBS interview if you don't know English.. its a basic requirement unlike other programs.

In addition to that, you need to pass the TOEFL test, in order to study there.
