Strongboxes will always be based because click box -> monster explode -> good brain chemicals. The boxes could drop absolutely nothing and I would still run them lmao
Tried to keep the cost as low as possible, but I assume this scales pretty well with just adding more strongboxes. Maybe I'll try a high investment version of this in the future. You all youtubers are liars. I always wondered why i dont get what these youtubers get. There is a trick to everything. OVER KILL DAMAGE is the key. Most (90% ) of players are under equipped. POE is advanced players game. Its takes lots of knowledge to get to blow out T16 mobs. There are 100s of trick. First thing is you need fast pc and gpu. Next is work out a plan in previous season on how to do certain things. So lot go into every thing. Also you need fast hands to play. First few days i played cassia in map with blight bosses ... i could not kill them so i got nothing. Now i just even put towers and just move end to end wipe the mobs and the drops become better. key secret i found out that is how quickly you kill mob is key to drops. I mean speed kill. One of the reason most people make video never show anything in screen. if everyone tell every secret , market will change then video maker has to learn new method...so its all ...just nonsense videos
I always love these series, Empy, great stuff. Seeing the absurd endgame party content or crafting is fun, but I'm sure these atlas vids help loads of people considering you basically go try out everything. The best thing a struggling player could do is just roll a bunch of maps, pick a strat, and go go go without fixating on chasing some unknown optimal hotness.

@@fagnerferonato If you are not making any currency you are doing it wrong and wasting them, I mean I spend 200 chaos on Toxic Sewer T16 maps and out of the 50 I got I did 9 of them and got over 300 Chaos back from that. by no means is getting 10 div difficult
Imo the strongbox strat feels way better on a quick caster build, where you can take the mastery that chests open on spell cast, that way you can open multiple at the time and dont have to walk up to them and get yourself in danger
I've been running a similar strategy with vaal temples! Rather than using harbingers I run with some harvest nodes and I grab alot of scarab drop chance. Each vaal vessel summons a "unique" boss enemy so you're able to get the extra 200% drop scarab chance each time you use one. Vaal temples have also been generating a ton of gold for me (anywhere from 10k-60k gold per map)

With harvest beasts now in the base beast pool, a bestiary strat would be nice. And as a bonus, it's map tier agnostic (well at least as far as t16 vs t17 is concerned). Maybe pair it with some other tier agnostic mechanics for the people who feel they're missing out not being able to do t17s? Destructive Play, Essences, Betrayal, Alva (Temple focus)...
In the spirit of low budget, Alc'n'Go with Delirium Scarab of Delusions (diry cheap) and then some other stuff thrown in that increases map drops and density. Doesn't really take much longer per map if you don't put in tanky league mechanics, and you get some free drops from the Deli.
This has been what I've been doing..I just dump all cluster jewels in a 10c tab (obviously if you get 20 tells in a minute for one, it's worth more so check the price). It's cheap and effective and fast for T16s. I use paranoia scarab as well as the torment scarab that gives rares a chance to have a torment mod.
I have ran about 100 T16 maps, juiced up to 80+ quant with blue altars. I ran 2x ambush with 1x Hidden, 1x Potency and 1x Discernment. My best drops have been 3x 2 divine orbs and 2x of 2 Valdo boxes. The rest has been a bunch of chaos, bubblegum and scarabs just from the maps itself. It was profitable, but still...
@@SkiffyYTnp, just wanted to see if you opted into the profit scarabs in the center and took the important ambush nodes to be sure. With the strongbox strat in both t16 and 17 a huge portion of the profit is in scarabs accruing. I made ~20 div in a bulk trade, personally after somewhere between 100-200 maps from my scarab tab. Also in t16s the t17 map drops are huge and I found around 20 which was like 15 div at the time. The div/hr was pretty juicy but your comment makes it seem like you didn’t make any profit somehow. Just wanted to see what might’ve happened
For anyone running this always, always, run the map dupe nodes as they can dupe t17 maps that drop from strong boxes which is semi common, not to mention all the extra maps. Do not drop them
i have been doing similar strat with some adjustment -buying 8-mod maps on tft. random with regex = 7c each map -big explo expedition with 2x runefinding 1x verisium. very large amount of reroll currency and logbooks. scarabs are 1-2 chaos each -i run Maven witnessing, getting lots of boss maps and special chisels. Destructive play obv. -strongbox nodes on atlas too, i put that 4c strongbox craft but don't use 12c scarab lol Investment: 7c (map) + 5c (exped scars) + 4c (craft) = 16c a map give or take. Cheap enough. Profit per hr is similar, what i really liek about it is gold per hr. I farmed almost 1 million gold from 50 maps bought.
I tried this method and added shaping the skies and significant troves and dropped the sulphite and shrines. This saves me two extra scarabs that I can use to add more ambush scarabs. I am making good currency off of this method. I have tried it with the more expensive ambush scarab thats 30c now and isn’t worth it unless you’re juicing t17s in my opinion.

honestly although expensive discernment scarab helps too much filtering all those thrash armourers strongboxes and making them arcanist or diviners i think theyre pretty worth it

I’m doing your alc n go strat, but am struggling tk sustain the dunes even though they are in all my fav map slots, any reason? I keep dropping more of the connected maps ie. bog scriptorium and armoury
i like doing it so i find two maps next to each other i like running then put half my fav slots for one and the other half for the other, then just alternate between them. since the atlas nodes give increased chance to drop for a connected map, not chance to crop current map.

I used to dodge strongboxes before as nothing dropped from them for me, but this league i run ambush on every map with any strats. If a divine drops, 2 drops, if a valdo drops, 2 drops and 4 chaos for 4 boxes is nothing(3+1from tree) Also Running these scarabs on vaal temple map because heck yeah more boxes.
Basically from what I've gathered after a couple of weeks is that T16s feel like garbage for the most part. There are some decent strats still. I think Deli is still good on T16s, but most stuff is a waste of time, sadly. If this is going to continue than they need to make T17s drop more often. As of now they are too rare still.
When i am bored or tired with mechanics then i just run maps with strongboxes, red altars, scarabs and harbingers on atlas. No need to stop during mapping and still a lot of potencial drops. Quantity and rarity from atlas, chisels and yellow corrupted maps can pay by itself.
No. They should do what they announced t17 to be. Aspirational content. Not more loot and no boss fragments. Just harder as the Uber bosses, just right now. Just the same as t16 but harder so you can bolster that your build is able to do "aspirational content" and not the mandatory one. But in 1 year we will see it slowly be balanced and fixed like archnemesis. Just wait after Poe 2 release for t17 to be good.
@@majorshepard2 The gap between t16 and t17 is enormous. The difficulty gap, and the return on investment in t17 is insane. As you saw in this video, a 10 divine build could somewhat clear a t16, but you can't clear a t17 without a character that is 100 divines deep at least. The gap between tier 1 and tier 16 is smaller than the gap between t16 and t17 and that is a HUGE problem especially because t17's are dictating the entire market. When t16's aren't even worth running after you have a god build, you have the .5% of players dominating the entire trade market of anything valuable.

I’ve had some luck with torment + deli + rogue exiles with uniques have addiontal modifiers and reward modifiers can get some cool stuff from them at times but be vary that they hit HARD when you juice them up that much
I really enjoyed the budget build, some of your videos require omega characters that are not attainable by noobs (like me). If you could do 1 div builds only I think they would be an amazing baseline
Why do we pick "mining byproducts" node here? (10% chance to get a bit of azurite) I understand picking yp some Niko chance and getting "the price of progress" for some more strongboxes and shrines. But why is azurite needed?
T6 essence spamming the only thing that survived T17 maps? the marketplace is great tho under cut all the essence scarabs by like 1-3c per then buy a huge amount of them and go to sleep, wake up in the morning with like 30 maps worth of discount scarabs \o/.
so much of the profit is just maps. without maps it would be in the red, loot really is in such a shity spot that the majority value isn't even something your character can equip or utilize but rather something you run your character in/through.
I haven't played this in years, but back in the day everything was priced according to Chaos or Exalts. Now it seems like we always talk in terms of divs. Is this a new thing? If yes, how come?

Been running this for a few days, and my numbers and yours match up. The only statistical outlier was getting a duplicate Hinekoras Lock from a strongbox. It's a decent strat for map sustain, gold gain, and just mindlessly blasting. It's taught me to love the strongbox as much as I fear it (ice nova gg).
Pretty good videos as always! Only thing I dont agree with you is your character and "low investment". Like 10 Div character is a lot for some players like me. I play PoE every league but only until im lvl 90/92 or so and most of the time I dont even have 5-10 Div by the end when I stop playing, after doing T16 Maps and Pinnacle Bosses ( i play like 50-100h per season)
I mean, you will be slower with the same build but less tier 1 items but you prob going to get 5/6 div a hour, its most likely that you will be getting a 10d div to a good point a week into the league.

But I´m definitely trying to sell stuff, there are just so many layers regarding equipment that its pretty hard to know whats valuable or not. Alteast thats my experience/feeling. @@sinistressdreams7243 Sounds like you're price checking too many rares. I ignore the vast majority of rares, if it isn't fractured or IDed it stays on the ground. Most don't realise that random currencies are worth a lot. My top 20 most valuable things are about a 40/40/20 split between currency/scarabs/fragments. If you don't farm fragments like mavens writs and guardian frags, then you could be closer to a 50/50 split. Think about it this way, I don't know all the good mods for rares so it usually takes 1-3 minutes for me to price check something I think could be worth good money, 9/10 things I price check are worth 1c, or are worth 10-30c but never sell. I can run a map in less than 3 minutes and my expected return on alch and go is 10-30c per map in currency and scarabs, so unless an item is worth more than that it isn't worth my time, and if an item isn't fractured it's one in billions that it'll sell for more than 30c. To add to this, I'm guessing you're running maps in 10-15 minutes at the moment because you loot a lot, in which case bump your loot filter up at least one strictness level, at this point I'm on Neversink's "Very Strict" tier, and I'm going to go to Uber Strict soon. If uniques show on Very Strict or higher, always price check, it takes 5 seconds and some uniques are worth a fortune, if a unique is worth less than 5c, it goes back on the floor. Counterpoint, if you know what the meta builds are looking for you can ID only the things you can check quickly. For example, Archmage builds want Profane Wands with as much cast speed and mana they can get, simple, so if I see a profane wand pop up on my loot filter, it takes me 5 seconds to pick it up, ID it, and then throw it away. If it hits those stats with decent rolls, I throw it in a 10 or 30c dump tab and jump into a new map ASAP. If I get spammed for it, I go /dnd and raise the price between maps. Another example, I was out of Divine/Chaos yesterday but saw a solid item for my build at 4d, it was perfect, but I had just traded away all my currency for another item, so I quickly went through my currency and scarab tabs and was able to trade some of the items I thought were worthless for decent chaos, and within 20 minutes I had enough, no rares traded at all. TL:DR Get a stronger loot filter and ignore any rares you can't price check in under 10s, unless fractured. Aim to run maps in under 3 minutes for Alch and Go, adjust slightly based on running fast/slow mechanics. If you are uber juicing maps, under 10 minutes might be valid.
@@tjparkour24 First of all, thank you for the answer! I dont think I can really answer everything in here but I'll adress some points. ID'ing too many items and checking? Probably true. I see 1-2 Div Bases and I dont get it why they are so expensive, which is why I'm kinda afraid to not look at those things. I should look into that stuff but it's just too much, while trying to learn so many other things. Also I don't get that many scarabs since I never focused on getting those nodes either. I always tried to go for the mechanic which I liked (legion first - harbinger last season and now blight). I dislike the simple "run through a map, dont really interact with anything because you kill everything in a fracture of a second, take your 2-3 stuff and then leave". It's no fun for me, I want to interact with something and not just on a 2 second basis.
only I think that ggg needs sh*t posts about their collapse of poe 2 release due to simply the worst expectations of too high a bar, and the fact that poe 1 is now constantly adapting to poe 2 or is it generally ruthless more? They must stop destroying good core of poe1

As someone who only plays SSF in an ARPG, this 'drama' is fucking funny. People complaining because they don't want to use scarabs in a t16? They stopped playing for fun and can't see passed playing for a profit. Seems like such a sad way to play the game to me personally. I just about hit red maps at this point and get a ton of drops, so I don't see what the issue is really.
Playing for profit is the only reason this game is fun. Imagine getting a divine drop in SSF, it doesn't mean shit. The fun part of POE is to grind to make money, invest that money into your character, grind more money, invest into making more money, be rich and swim in the divines you've created for yourself. SSF is boring af.

And a divine is far from useless in SSF. It enables certain crafts but more importantly is the only way to reroll uniques. I can't just shop for better rolls, if I get a rare drop, Im not likely to get another. If you think divine drops in trade is fun, imagine getting build enabling uniques or finally getting an item you grinded hard for in SSF. To me trading is boring af, and SSF is the only way to play an ARPG. The concept of just grinding for money to buy an upgrade I didn't really work for in a meaningful way is so boring I wouldn't even play.
Waited the league for 3 months, saw the stream pres for it, super excited, now i quit after 12 days .0 drops, the boats bring a maximum of 2 c, worst lesgue ever, id rather play the worst game d4 instead

Basically from what I've gathered after a couple of weeks is that T16s feel like garbage for the most part. There are some decent strats still. I think Deli is still good on T16s, but most stuff is a waste of time, sadly. If this is going to continue than they need to make T17s drop more often. As of now they are too rare still.
When i am bored or tired with mechanics then i just run maps with strongboxes, red altars, scarabs and harbingers on atlas. No need to stop during mapping and still a lot of potencial drops. Quantity and rarity from atlas, chisels and yellow corrupted maps can pay by itself.

No. They should do what they announced t17 to be. Aspirational content. Not more loot and no boss fragments. Just harder as the Uber bosses, just right now. Just the same as t16 but harder so you can bolster that your build is able to do "aspirational content" and not the mandatory one. But in 1 year we will see it slowly be balanced and fixed like archnemesis. Just wait after Poe 2 release for t17 to be good.
@@majorshepard2 The gap between t16 and t17 is enormous. The difficulty gap, and the return on investment in t17 is insane. As you saw in this video, a 10 divine build could somewhat clear a t16, but you can't clear a t17 without a character that is 100 divines deep at least. The gap between tier 1 and tier 16 is smaller than the gap between t16 and t17 and that is a HUGE problem especially because t17's are dictating the entire market. When t16's aren't even worth running after you have a god build, you have the .5% of players dominating the entire trade market of anything valuable.

@@tiernanastronskas261 i lately cleared a t17 with 250% quant w.o any trouble besides the boss where i died 2 times due to having 110% less recovery and eater balls spawning everywhere and my build is mostly self crafted (harvest ftw), only bought boots and helmet for 1 div each

I’ve had some luck with torment + deli + rogue exiles with uniques have addiontal modifiers and reward modifiers can get some cool stuff from them at times but be vary that they hit HARD when you juice them up that much

Whats wrong with harvest? Im not even using any scarabs, just every node on the tree, and can get like 20-30c a map on t16.
Why do we pick "mining byproducts" node here? (10% chance to get a bit of azurite)
I understand picking yp some Niko chance and getting "the price of progress" for some more strongboxes and shrines.
But why is azurite needed?
You can buy resonators from Niko with your azurite and sell them. It's basically another steady layer of profit you're making per map.

T6 essence spamming the only thing that survived T17 maps? the marketplace is great tho under cut all the essence scarabs by like 1-3c per then buy a huge amount of them and go to sleep, wake up in the morning with like 30 maps worth of discount scarabs \o/.
so much of the profit is just maps. without maps it would be in the red, loot really is in such a shity spot that the majority value isn't even something your character can equip or utilize but rather something you run your character in/through.
I haven't played this in years, but back in the day everything was priced according to Chaos or Exalts. Now it seems like we always talk in terms of divs. Is this a new thing? If yes, how come?

Been running this for a few days, and my numbers and yours match up. The only statistical outlier was getting a duplicate Hinekoras Lock from a strongbox.
It's a decent strat for map sustain, gold gain, and just mindlessly blasting. It's taught me to love the strongbox as much as I fear it (ice nova gg).
I never really 'fall' for a price fix. Whenever i list something and i get giga spammed suddenly in the next 5 min i /dnd and raise the price.

Pretty good videos as always! Only thing I dont agree with you is your character and "low investment". Like 10 Div character is a lot for some players like me. I play PoE every league but only until im lvl 90/92 or so and most of the time I dont even have 5-10 Div by the end when I stop playing, after doing T16 Maps and Pinnacle Bosses ( i play like 50-100h per season)
Actually 10 div is really, really low, I bet you had in total more than 10 Div in your stash but you did not sell them, 10 Div is nothing
I mean, you will be slower with the same build but less tier 1 items but you prob going to get 5/6 div a hour, its most likely that you will be getting a 10d div to a good point a week into the league.
@@Dontbenchmeplz Well I´m using Awakened Poe Trade and try to price check everything but kinda yes? This league is the first one where I have multiple tabs like 5C/10C/20C and so on. But I´m definitely trying to sell stuff, there are just so many layers regarding equipment that its pretty hard to know whats valuable or not. Alteast thats my experience/feeling. You could be right, cant tell for sure
@@sinistressdreams7243 Sounds like you're price checking too many rares. I ignore the vast majority of rares, if it isn't fractured or IDed it stays on the ground. Most don't realise that random currencies are worth a lot. My top 20 most valuable things are about a 40/40/20 split between currency/scarabs/fragments. If you don't farm fragments like mavens writs and guardian frags, then you could be closer to a 50/50 split.
Think about it this way, I don't know all the good mods for rares so it usually takes 1-3 minutes for me to price check something I think could be worth good money, 9/10 things I price check are worth 1c, or are worth 10-30c but never sell. I can run a map in less than 3 minutes and my expected return on alch and go is 10-30c per map in currency and scarabs, so unless an item is worth more than that it isn't worth my time, and if an item isn't fractured it's one in billions that it'll sell for more than 30c.
To add to this, I'm guessing you're running maps in 10-15 minutes at the moment because you loot a lot, in which case bump your loot filter up at least one strictness level, at this point I'm on Neversink's "Very Strict" tier, and I'm going to go to Uber Strict soon. If uniques show on Very Strict or higher, always price check, it takes 5 seconds and some uniques are worth a fortune, if a unique is worth less than 5c, it goes back on the floor.
Counterpoint, if you know what the meta builds are looking for you can ID only the things you can check quickly. For example, Archmage builds want Profane Wands with as much cast speed and mana they can get, simple, so if I see a profane wand pop up on my loot filter, it takes me 5 seconds to pick it up, ID it, and then throw it away. If it hits those stats with decent rolls, I throw it in a 10 or 30c dump tab and jump into a new map ASAP. If I get spammed for it, I go /dnd and raise the price between maps.
Another example, I was out of Divine/Chaos yesterday but saw a solid item for my build at 4d, it was perfect, but I had just traded away all my currency for another item, so I quickly went through my currency and scarab tabs and was able to trade some of the items I thought were worthless for decent chaos, and within 20 minutes I had enough, no rares traded at all.
TL:DR Get a stronger loot filter and ignore any rares you can't price check in under 10s, unless fractured. Aim to run maps in under 3 minutes for Alch and Go, adjust slightly based on running fast/slow mechanics. If you are uber juicing maps, under 10 minutes might be valid.
@@tjparkour24 First of all, thank you for the answer! I dont think I can really answer everything in here but I'll adress some points.
ID'ing too many items and checking? Probably true. I see 1-2 Div Bases and I dont get it why they are so expensive, which is why I'm kinda afraid to not look at those things. I should look into that stuff but it's just too much, while trying to learn so many other things. Also I don't get that many scarabs since I never focused on getting those nodes either. I always tried to go for the mechanic which I liked (legion first - harbinger last season and now blight). I dislike the simple "run through a map, dont really interact with anything because you kill everything in a fracture of a second, take your 2-3 stuff and then leave". It's no fun for me, I want to interact with something and not just on a 2 second basis.
T17 are causing some issues in the economy.

As someone who only plays SSF in an ARPG, this 'drama' is fucking funny. People complaining because they don't want to use scarabs in a t16? They stopped playing for fun and can't see passed playing for a profit. Seems like such a sad way to play the game to me personally.
I just about hit red maps at this point and get a ton of drops, so I don't see what the issue is really.

Playing for profit is the only reason this game is fun. Imagine getting a divine drop in SSF, it doesn't mean shit. The fun part of POE is to grind to make money, invest that money into your character, grind more money, invest into making more money, be rich and swim in the divines you've created for yourself. SSF is boring af.
@@tiernanastronskas261 To each their own. I can make characters that clear all content with gear I found or made myself. THAT is what ARPG's are all about to me. I play every single ARPG this way. And a divine is far from useless in SSF. It enables certain crafts but more importantly is the only way to reroll uniques. I can't just shop for better rolls, if I get a rare drop, Im not likely to get another. If you think divine drops in trade is fun, imagine getting build enabling uniques or finally getting an item you grinded hard for in SSF.
To me trading is boring af, and SSF is the only way to play an ARPG. The concept of just grinding for money to buy an upgrade I didn't really work for in a meaningful way is so boring I wouldn't even play.

Ground loots fine ur just bad. Dropped a mirror 2 fracture orbs tainted divs and 7 influence orbs and approx 100 raw divs and 3k raw chaos
