The passing of a dearly loved friend or family member brings so many emotions. Everyone processes these things in their own way. I remember is about the relationship I had with my mother and her passing. Although I never doubted the love we had for each other, our relationship had it's challenges. She suffered with addiction and ultimately died after overdosing on crushed up pharmaceuticals to deal with the physical and emotional pain of being brutally attacked. Her story is a sad one but needs to be told as her struggle with bipolar disorder led her down many strange and dark paths, alienated from her children and ultimately alone in a town in northern Alberta. When we went to her apartment there were dozens of blood covered rags stuffed into closets. I still have many unanswered questions about what happened, this is my farewell to her. I love you Mom.
