Matt, excellent explanations Definitely there is some good and some bad in the lifestyle. New FAs absolutely face financial challenges. That was one thing from which I was fortunate enough to be exempt. Anyway, think your statements were fair and honest about the job. We all should know the glamour days are long gone. NOW - on to 26 August when the new position actually starts to happen. Hope the training has and is going well. ❤️❤️ to you and Jack and hope you guys are getting some time together. Would be great if he could base out of IAD. Herman

Hi Herman, I hope you’ve been doing well. I started my first day of school yesterday actually and it was tough but I’m glad to be back in the classroom. I was a bit rusty after 2 years but I’ll get back to my groove. Anyway, I just wanted to do this video to cover both the good and the bad of the FA life as I feel so many have no idea what they’re getting themselves into. I received criticisms because of my first video lately, but as I’ve said over and over and obviously people aren’t listening, these are my experiences alone. Oh well. How’ve you been though? I hope life’s treating you well

Matt, you probably already have hit your groove. And so fortunate that you are doing something you love and being paid for doing it!!! As for those criticisms you received, am sure you know that many hear or process selectively, and when you stated something that had not also been their experience, total memory erasures occurred that involved the ‘this is only what happened to me’ disclaimers. Anyway, that is now in your history and you have the opportunity to foster critical and individual thinking in the special ed children you are kind of molding. And that is much more rewarding undoubtedly than serving hot nuts and champagne welcomes to someone who has paid over $13K to fly in Polaris between JFK & LHR.
Since you asked, I will share that my primary doc sent me to neurologist over the leg and ankle weakness. Electric conductivity tests confirmed his suspicions of it being due to neuropathy, and severe, at that. Neuropathy means nerve damage in the peripheral nervous system, which is everything outside the brain and spinal cord. The weakness and attendant intermittent balance problems are not due to the muscles being weak or bone fragility - but because the system is malfunctioning in sending messages to leg muscles to tighten or relax or do whatever necessary for what one wants to use them for. No cure for this situation but it can help to do balance classes, which I am doing. Again, thank you for asking me. Most of the time, when I get this cursory question posed robotically about health, I also reply robotically - Fine, and you? It is just easier, since both questioner and responder are simply exercising social mores drills. BUT, you have impressed me as actually caring about this aging almost 83 years young guy, and I therefore bend your ear. My love to you and Jack and Luna and your Mom. And so good to know your a dad has had some recovery. 🌈❤️Your friend
