I disagree with Kemi on facilities in government hospitals. Let her pay a courtesy visit to general hospitals in Lagos and see what effort Lagos State Government has put in place...they even have memorandum signed with private hospitals for specific care funded by government...or subsidised. However, the greater problem are the doctors that will refer you to their own personal hospitals or a friend's hospital to perform a certain care...for the money. I am not in Nigeria, but I speak from experience.
The government can't do everything abeg. Citizens can also support. I know for sure that governments donate palliative (rice, beans, and so on) to be distributed to citizens by government officials working in ministry, but they share or sell them amongst themselves. In the US, citizens help themselves without waiting on government unlike us
What about people that don't have huge sum of money? Pls God don't let calamity arise again in my family. My mum died last year due to mismanagement , cos we couldn't raise millions to take her to a better hospital Money is everything in nigeria
