Today I am rounding up my PhD programme and a University Teacher now. I am happy to be a teacher like Teacher Dorcas who believes so much in her students ❤

This is beautiful work particularly the scene where Kaima was given a torchlight by her mum I cried bcos that was my story growing up I hawked plantain chips during the day and burnt my candle by night I swore to myself to be successful and give my unborn children a better life than I had ,today am a registered nurse in the uk it was not easy getting here but with determination and God on my side I made it. My life story is a rollercoaster I can’t tell it all but am grateful for how far God has brought me.

This is really really amazing. From @Bimbo talking to Victory about being careless to following her to her mum to Ifiok having to take responsibility to Victory and Ifiok preparing for their exam, how @Bimbo believed in her students, Smart speaking English fluently.... the list goes on. At the top of it is Kiama's resilience and her mum changing her candle to a lamp, I mean Kaima would have opted out of being a serious student because she had a genuine excuse, but she had chosen success and that was her guiding light. One thing I really appreciate about this movie is how they used REAL young people to play the students. Victory and Ifiok looked like teenagers and some of the students as well. I feel this representation is important in the movie industry and I loved that✨
This movie was a nice watch, the fact that I didn’t have to fast forward shows is a 10/10 movie, no unnecessary drama straight to the point, realistic houses, restaurant and cloths. Even the car was realistic. Movie made a lot of sense . I really applaud their attention to details

She reminded me of my best teacher in my junior secondary school days Mis Odueke. She means a lot to me and to other students. In my primary school days I always have a lower grade in class then. But in my jss1 second term I meet her and she change the narrative. She made me believe in myself that I can do it and now I did it. This movie resonates with me. I was a teacher after my secondary school days in a family friends private school because there was a teacher in my school then that made me love teaching, she was so involved in our lives and it helped a lot of us. After my university days I was posted to a school for my Nysc and it was amazing. I loved how the kids were able to relate to me and with me. Bimbo is just an exceptional actress. As teachers we play a major role in the lives of our students.
This is the movie. Got me reminiscing my secondary school days - positively, though. use of candles and lanterns. Impact of good teachers . I had an English teacher (one of the best) who would end the class on a Friday with stories and danced out of class it was fun. I am also happy with the comments here. This movie was a nice watch, the fact that I didn’t have to fast forward shows is a 10/10 movie, no unnecessary drama straight to the point, realistic houses, restaurant and cloths. Even the car was realistic. Movie made a lot of sense . I really applaud their attention to details

She reminded me of my best teacher in my junior secondary school days Mis Odueke. She means a lot to me and to other students. In my primary school days I always have a lower grade in class then. But in my jss1 second term I meet her and she change the narrative. She made me believe in myself that I can do it and now I did it. Thanks Mis Odueke and to other wonderful teachers out there, that has believe in public school student and that never underestimated them. This movie resonates with me. I was a teacher after my secondary school days in a family friends private school because there was a teacher in my school then that made me love teaching, she was so involved in our lives and it helped a lot of us. After my university days I was posted to a school for my Nysc and it was amazing. I loved how the kids were able to relate to me and with me. Bimbo is just an exceptional actress. As teachers we play a major role in the lives of our students.

This was a very relatable movie that speaks on profound societal issues like teenage pregnancy, sexism and lackadaisical attitude towards school work. this was a beautiful watch. i loved that the costume from the clothings, shoes, car and home interior was very consistent to a teacher even at the end she had just a simple wedding band and not a rock. made it very very realistic.
