Just did my timing belt yesterday on my Mazda BT 50 with a Gates kit from eBay in the process I found the radiator starting to break so I had to buy a new radiator yesterday too. All going good now.

I have a suggestion, the compressor fan belt should be replaced so that the cricket sound disappears. Based on experience on my eve, it sounds like that. 😊

Hey have you changed the valve cover on the Everest ? I’ve got the same engine, but I can’t seem to find all the gaskets for the valve cover 😞

Did you install the belt back to front? belt arrows show opposite direction...?
yes, based on camshaft rotation.

@@DiYSpanner Belt is correct!! crank turns clockwise, but cambelt driven by injection pump which turns counterclockwise. You can see when the engine starts up anyway.
@@jonbarter6838 Actually, just found out that the belt can go either way. The arrows can be used for lining up with the timing marks. See the Gates timing belt FAQ. Cheers.
