We are SO excited to bring all of you along for the adventure of shipping our self converted sprinter van from Halifax, Canada to Liverpool, UK. So much adventure awaits us for VAN LIFE IN EUROPE!
Today is the BIG DAY as we pick up our campervan from the port in Liverpool and BEGIN VAN LIFE IN EUROPE!! We begin this journey by driving south to Wales where we meet up with Craig & Aimee of Kinging It. The pair of them are currently working on a DIY bus conversion and we thought we could lend them a helping hand :). Don't worry it's not all work on the tiny house, we also get up to some cheeky fun!!
We're then off to meet up with yet another van life couple who is based in the UK. Long time internet friends The Indie Projects. Theo and Bee are just as lovely IRL as they appear in their beautifully produced TH-cam videos about living in a van :). Together we adventure around Snowdonia National park and tour you around some of the best van life spots Wales has to offer!!

Eamon & Bec the peeps you met up with seemed cool and fun to hang with. You all seemed like you had a kick ass time. Wish I was there with you. The weather there seemed good to me considering the heat wave we’ve had here in the states. It’s been killer hot out. I look forward to your next vid of Ireland. I’ve always wanted to go there and Scotland, but anywhere in Europe would be great to visit. Keep up what you do and thank you for sharing. I’m always watching your new vids and glad I subscribed two years ago.
Eamon & Bec hey!!Love y’all!
Eamon & Bec welcome to the UK love Eamon’s attempt at British accent. Say Morrison’s again dude knacks me up had to watch it twice 😂😂🤓🤙👍👍
I love your videos!!! My wife and I get so excited and settle in to watch every time you post!!! You have inspired us to live the van life soon!!!
Anyone told Eamon he’s the spit of Gareth Bale yet? 🏴 🇬🇧
Your dance party had us in stitches 😂 so fun hanging out with you guys, hopefully see you on the road! ✌️
Hahah we had so much time to sing and dance while waiting for our friends to find a parking spot 😆. Hope to catch you soon too & excited for your weekly episode!!
What was the monitor you had on your DSLR?
Burton Hohman it’s a black magic video assist 😀
The Indie Projects awesome, thank you!
Aw you guys! Thanks an absolute BUNCH for coming to help up with Custard the bus. You want to see her now.. she's SHINING! We just had some chips (our first meal in here) and watched the vlog - loved it! Thanks for sharing our channel too - appreciate the love 😙❤😁 Hopefully see you again on the road! But until then.. happy travels butt 😎
Kinging- It you KNOW we’d love to be there with you guys and Custy! Was a real joy getting to know our first fav TH-camrs ❤️👊🏼
Telll me about the plastic! 😫 It’s hasn’t always been this way in the UK. I’m 40 and have lived here all my life. In the 80/ 90s we still had a lot of small independent specialist stores (green grocers, bakeries, etc). The proliferation of big supermarkets has meant many of these small stores closing down and also a general move away from town centres (“the British High Street”) to out of town shopping in supermarkets (and shopping malls). The little shops you could rock up with your own bags and get just what you needed. Back 20 /30 years ago loose produce was readily available in supermarkets too, so you could pick up just one apple if all you wanted was * just one apple* (not a pre-wrapped, arbitrary 6 pack). We moved to the Highlands of Scotland 15 years ago (after vanlifing and WWOOFing for a while) because things in a small Highland town were a couple decades behind in terms of ‘development’ ((and community), but in those years we’ve seen the town go from just a medium sized ethical groceries store , no large supermarket and lots of small shops to one. with a struggling high street, many closures, empty units and three large supermarkets on the peripheries of town selling ever more limited selections of produce and products.
The reason large supermarkets do so well in Britain is because the majority of people want to get everything they need from one place, rather than 5 different places - even if those smaller places offer higher quality goods. A lot of people cry about the high street dying off, yet everybody buys stuff off Amazon, eBay or Craigslist because of availability. Shops on the high street have limited stock and usually have to order things in for you anyway, meaning your waiting time on an item is the same but you have to physically go to the shop twice when you could just have it posted to your front door. I haven’t even brought up the problem of parking a vehicle in Britain yet either.
The only practical way to save the high street is to make that the better experience again. No one is going to go to a store when it’s easier, cheaper and quicker to buy the same thing online. The bottom line is always convenience and being able to save money where you can. The only way to protect the high street is to tax and penalise online distributors. Any company that earns over 70-80% of their revenue via online sales should be taxed more aggressively as a result, you’d suddenly find that Titan companies like Amazon would have to open up physical stores like Argos where they sell all of their products available on with Prime delivery (like their AmazonBasics range). Companies can easily dodge taxes legally by having their Headquarters set up somewhere with a lower tax bracket. Cafe Nero is a perfect example as their Headquarters used to be on the Isle of Man (I know that because I live here) yet we’ve never actually had a store on island. They got the benefit of 0% business tax just by stating their residency here. As soon as that got questioned locally, they moved it to London.
Unfortunately the Government doesn’t actually care about the high street, if they did they’d put legislation together to protect it. As an individual, the best way to keep the high street around is to use it and give your money to the shops you want to support, physically and ethically. Money talks.
I started watching craig and aimee and am obsessed. you guys always highlight the best people THANK YOU!!
I subscribed to both recommendations in your description. Thanks for introducing me to new vloggers to follow. Should be fun following them. Take care.
Well welcome to Europe. Fuel is expensive compared to CA or US in Europe and so is shopping for food in supermarkets across Europe. Plastic is used for conserving the freshness of produce and fruit and is used on organic fruit and produce a lot in Europe because they are not sprayed with chemicals to preserve freshness, the plastic helps the food stay fresh longer. And yes everything is smaller in Europe compared to CA and US😊
Trust me when I say that many of us in the UK are fighting the plastic wrap situation. We are doing it in various ways, like shopping at farm shops, unwrapping the goods once paid for and handing it back to the supermarkets, creating bulk buy co-operatives that source food that is packaged minimally and sharing it out to the co-operative members, who come and pick the food stuff up in re-usable storage boxes/bottles/mason jars, etc, organic veg boxes, direct from small holders. Yes our country is obsessed with shrink wrapping and bagging everything, but there is change coming. :)
So many different pets people have with them through van life though I have never seen I cat but I’ve seen a snake
I think Jennelle is breaking the internet at the moment with her pet snake! We think Gingey is a cute runner up for best van life pet ;)
Eamon & Bec We love youtubers treating each other with love and no animosity even though content idea is same ❤️❤️
@Eme Kennede yeah
Billy Thompson are you talking about Alfredo? Jenelles snake?
I had a girlfriend in my RV last year. Never bringing pets on the road again.
Petting “pets” on the go is so much more entertaining 😁
Bec always comes across so poised & graceful w/her ballerina past 😉 I love seeing her get a lil wild 😜 hahaha that water obstacle course was a monster! What fun💕🌺
THIS IS SO COOL. super pumped for you two. Miss having you on this continent, but I guess Europe is lucky to have you for now.
I love that you wrote keep left on the window 🤪
Levi Allen thanks Levi! We can hardly believe we’ve got our VAN with us here in Europe! Pretty surreal ❤️
Hey, little tip for avoiding plastic: go to local grocers / independent grocers. I buy most of my stuff there, majority of which without the plastic!
Maybe I missed it, can you talk about visa requirements and how long your able to travel?
that's what I wanted to see,,, how much it cost to get the van there,,, and if they even needed a visa if they weren't working, or really technically living there idk
Same here that is what I want to know too in regards of visa and documents for the van to drive on UK soil? Thanks
For Canadians I’m sure it’s different than Americans because Canada is a commonwealth country, so I’m pretty sure they can stay in the UK longer. A lot of people will move in and out of the schengen zone to be able to maximize their time in Europe.
Welcome😊.Oh and you should totally visit my small country Serbia.Near to Austria(on Balkan).Check it out online and you'll see pics of so so sooo beautiful views everywhere.Food is amazing and culture too.Just some advice to see something beautiful and hiden yet so not popular.I know it's not that expected like Germany,France...But you won't regret it and you will love it,i promise.😊
Great video! So excited you were in Barry, I love it there (Gavin and Stacy for life!). Looking forward to seeing Ireland.
Hahah Craig & Aimee were telling us about that show! We've got to get caught up 😆
Those rock walls are also common here in Norway. The rocks come from the fields, when they made fields to grow grass, they had to take out alt the rocks, and they made walls with them. Here there are no problem with finding rocks, a yearly task is to pick rocks from the fields so the can plant more grass or other crops
Eamon: “where do they get all these rocks?”
Next clip: rocks EVERYWHERE 😂
I know they weren’t the same rocks but found it funny
I laughed at that too! 😅
Lol
Love Craig and Amiee!!
When you get to the Netherlands, let me know! I would be happy to host you and the van for a bit! Thanks for sharing.
Danielle Pooler thank you Danielle!
Hi Eamon & Bec - welcome to the UK 😎We're new to your channel and love it - That swimming session looked absolutely amazing - so much fun. How you enjoy the UK and Europe - we're looking forward to seeing your travels - and if you see our van Trudy on the road come say hi - One things for sure you won't miss here LOL !! Chris & Marianne 😀👍
Thanks for the warm welcome you two!! Wonderful to have you joining our journey ❤️
Looks like you are having so much fun! And OMG I can't wait to see your visit with Dave and Steve from the Happy Pear. I have been following their channel almost as long as I have been following you guys. So excited!!
Welcome to England! Sainsbury supermarket has just launched a plastic free section to try and help and Waitrose is a little better for it .. You can find green grocers around the place and street markets that are plastic free!
Oooooh my God!!! The happy pear have been my favorite food youtubers for ages!! Aaahhh can’t wait to see your collab!
N G Dave and Steve have got to be some of our most favourite people on planet earth!!! A pair of legends they are!
Well this was a fun circle to complete. I saw you guys first on Trent and Allie, thought it was cool that they knew someone from Ontario...was tickled when you guys passed through Collingwood in one of your first videos I watched. We live 12km outside Collingwood.
So I've been following you for a while. Then I decided to go watch your UK vids...cos Im British. Was completely blown away to find out your first stop in the UK was South Wales (Barry). Im from Newport and lived in the next village to Barry for a number of years. How bizarre that life connects us all in ways we could never imagine.
I really respect you guys and i really wish i had your bravery and your carefree-ness and a spark for life and also how you are trying your best to avoid plastics and make a small but yet somehow big difference in this world. You guys inspire me and make me feel i want to improve myself and be more positive in my life. One day i want to be able to be brave enough to travel like you guys and make new friends. I always have a hard time making friends and even approaching anyone. :') It scares me to the bones.
You HAVE TO come to the Netherlands!!! It's so beautiful, peaceful, and the people are literally the friendliest! Also, make sure to add Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Germany to your list of places to visit...it's truly a magical fairy tale city!
absolute legends! every video is epic! literally bursting to see where u go here in scotland! cant wait for every video
Thank you so much Rossco!
Eamon & Bec I'm from Scotland the high lands are beautiful.
That was so kind of you to help with their bus. You are a stand up guy!
Eamon doesn't always get the praise he deserves so THANK YOU! I couldn't agree more ❤️
I’ve been refreshing youtube every day in hopes to see a video! I’m so excited to see more of you guys!!
Hi Rhianna! Thank you so much for that kind comment! We post EVERY Sunday at 9PM EST so you'll never have to guess again :)
Did you guys make a video explaining the details and research of bringing the van across the pond, in a left-driving country no less. I bet most here would like to see that. There was a ton of prep for sure. How much is the insurance?
Favorite notification to get! Happy Sunday eamon & bec!
Thank you sweet friend! Happy Sunday to you too Jamie x
Same
Also - if you’re looking for fruit & veg out of the plastic, try local greengrocers! They usually have fresh fruit & veg out of packaging and it’s great to support local businesses!
My favourite way to spend my Sunday night ❤️
You're the sweetest! Thank you Hannah :)
I love the Happy Pear!!! Can’t wait to see the next video! Love you guys💙
This was so awesome! Loved the cat carrier, I've never seen such a thing! I can't wait to go to Ireland with you guys. We were there a year ago.. can't wait to see it again👍🌞♥️☘️
Your videos are edging me closer and closer to getting a van! Loved watching your aqua park fun i went last week was amazing! Was lovely to see you meet up with the indie project aswell i love their videos!
Jess thanks for the love Jess!
If you are going to Norway i will sugest going to "Lofoten", "Nordkapp" and "Lindesnes". Nordkapp is the place length norht in Europ not counting "svalbard"!!!! Keep up the good work😀
For unpackaged fruits and veggies I'd recommend going to Aldi or Lidl :-) they're also just cheaper supermarkets in general. For cheaper fuel make sure you fill up at supermarkets (ASDA, Morrisons, Tesco, Sainsbury's, etc) and not places like Shell or BP.
yes! so happy Trinity is back! I love these vlogs. I'm secretly praying that you upload 2x a week again. :)
Awe haha thank you so much for wanting more of our content! There are no plans to currently bring back another video per week as we're working really hard at improving our filming & editing to make the 1 that we do upload GREAT!
Eamon & Bec And it shows! The editing is amazing. Keep up the good work!
Hey a little tip from a Londoner .If you shop in a Lidi or Aldi they have a lot of produce you can buy separate. 🙂Their also cheaper then most big supermarkets .
I always catch myself with the silliest smile while watching your adventures ❤️
Awe that's the sweetest thing!! Thanks for sharing Susanne!
I live in Scotland! If you look on google maps you will find independent grocers who will have loose produce not loads of plastic.
i thought the camera angles at the zipline were just hilarious😂😂 looks like a great time!
PS please come to Heidelberg, Germany!
Hahha glad we could get a chuckle out of you!
There’s nothing better than watching you both!
You continue to inspire me each week to get out of my comfort zone and pursue my dreams and really live life! So thank you 🙏🏻
Bec I want to know where you get your pajamas! After your Baja series all I’ve wanted are those cute blue onesie pajamas! Or maybe even a video about your clothes because they are all lovely and sustainable and I live for that! 🦋
I'd click that like button for your fuels 😂
Hahah thank you!! We need all the help we can get ;)
There r many Saturday Markets (sometimes also Wednesday) which you can buy non-package fruits & veggies. Also many vegan food choice here in UK. Quite a few vegan festival coming as well if u r interested in. Hope u have a great time here.
I watched all the ads after hearing how much money it was to fill her up!!! Just want to support in any way I can :)
Sonali Singh awe haha thank you so much Sonali! Appreciate you!
Hey guys! If you’re around in the UK you’ve got to come down to Cornwall before you leave! It’s a bit of a trip down but you won’t regret it if you do make it!!! Definitely the best part of the whole uk
Since I discover your channel my Sunday’s are getting better💙💙
Awe that's a very sweet thing to say! Thank you!
You guys seriously put so much thought into your videos and I love it. You guys aren’t just the stereotypical bus life couple, your style is modern but yet you guys seem to be kind. Take care and I can’t wait for some more content!
Thank you so much for the lovely compliment! We appreciate you ❤️
The intros to these videos are always so great. #sundaytradition!
Awe thank you so much Hannah :):). We love being a part of your Sundays!
so a few tips about the Uk :) go to Lidl or Aldi its ALOT cheaper food wise and its just as good quality, and the uk isnt as up-to date with the eco living etc so you will find alot of plastic, However if you look for "Farm shops" they will sell single produce items :D but there is a few eco living stores dotted around the uk if you google them :D.
Eamon: Where did they get all of the rocks from?
Me: You're at a quarry...? :p
Hi...bec, 'bits & bobs' picking up the little english sayings & eamon, getting all the greetings down..super!!! the emerald green of the countryside is fabulous, mates...what did they use all the slate for?? roofs?? marvelous new friends...love the water park, crazy!!! so looking forward to many more great times. blessings for much luck & great fun
Is it crazy I have an alarm to wake up every Sunday at 8 am to watch the new video? Everyone does that right? Cool! Thanks for not judging!
Oh my gosh! I can't tell you how happy this made me to read :):):) Thank you for loving our content and committing to our Sunday uploads ❤️ Much love -- Eamon & bec
Eamon & Bec THANK YOU!! You guys are so much fun to watch! Keep up the good work! And whenever you feel burnt out editing and filming or when a drone gets taken down by a bird just know the subs are always sending light and good vibes and some of us have alarms to watch y’all! 😂😂👍🏻💪🏻💕
Your blogs are bringing so many feels back,!! My entire family went to Ireland for three weeks last year. Best trip ever. If you can try and visit cliffs of moher. Breathtaking
THE BEST PART OF THIS VIDEO WAS EAMON FALLING OFF OMG I COULDN'T STOP LAUGHING!
HAHAH that whole scene kept us giggling for quite some time!! What a fun surprise Craig & Aimee planned for us :)
OH WOW CRAIG AND EMMES MERC BUS IS ONE OF THE BEST SIZE MERCS FOR MAKING INTO A HOME, OLD SCHOOL 1990/ 2000 model , RESPECT TROOPS, And WELCOME TO UK. 🇬🇧. 🏴
Yall should do bus life also do they have double decker buses if they do u should really do that double decker bus life!
I am sooo glad you guys returned to the cabin given the current state of the world. Praying for you Bec for a effortless and successful surgery. You are strong and will make it through this.
I just recently started watching you guys, I love this! And your channel, im subscribed!
Awe thank you Zoie!! So excited to welcome you to our community here x
@@eamonandbec you're welcome! And thank you 💕
We did a big UK roadtrip in August and seeing all these places are bringing back lots of memories for me. Loving your channel so much.
U guys should come to ireland it has lots of countryside and sightseeing luv from Sligo,Ireland♡🇮🇪
I went to Sligo a couple of years ago, and I have to say that that area of Ireland is GORGEOUS! You're so lucky to live there!
We rented a camper van in toured Ireland and it goes down as one of our favorite family adventures! Love Ireland and it's people.
You can buy single produce , but it’s easier for smaller stores to but multipacks in as it makes them more money.
You should come to UNICORN GROCERY Chorlton Manchester, most amazing vegan supermarket you would love it!
i love the fact you visited europe and in wales, when you went to cardiff your just a few miles from where i live, amazing! your videos are amazing, keep them coming!
I got really confused as I watch both your Instagrams, so I knew you had her. I think it's so amazing that you shipped your van here xxx
Ah yes, our Instagrams are in real time and our videos are typically 1-2 weeks behind as we spend multiple days filming and editing :). Thanks for the love Caroline (and for following us on all the platforms!).
Iv only just found your channel, but iv been binge watching for 4 days, you guys are awesome, found your channel looking for tiny homes, stayed for the vegan food. Keep up the videos of your amazing life
So not only did you make straight for North Wales - my home turf - you bring us news of the Barry bloggers' van too?
Is it Christmas already?
Oh, yeah, we're still working on the plastic thing.
Hey Eamon & Bec,
My wife, Dallas, and I are researching on DIY Van builds with the purpose of it being our new home after moving from our townhome in NC (June 2020) to wherever she gets accepted for medical school next year here in the US 🤞🏼🙏🏼.
We just found your channel and would love pointers on where to start for our first DIY van conversion musts, how to, balling on a budget, how long the average build takes... etc.
After watching this video through we are going with the 144 for what seems to be convenience in city parking, more options wild camping, or just maneuverability.
Thank you in advance for your help!
- Austin & Dallas
How efficient is the solar panel under the Great UK cloud :)
As someone from England, it's so exciting to see this! Check out Aldi or Lidl for cheap and plastic free fruit and veg! It's not all plastic free but much better than Tesco and Sainsbury. Waitrose is also good x
Where are you planning on going next? Belgium, France,...?
Who knows!!
Probably france
@@eamonandbec Hi, whats is the best way of contacting you to ask questions about shipping?
literally cried watching this, you could see our house from your time in cardiff bay!! having followed every vlog for over 2 years, so gutted that we didnt get a chance to meet you when you were so so close!!! really hope one day you come back this way!!! always welcome in lush tidy wales x
How do you get away with having the drivers seat on the opposite side of the van compared to in England
Sun Maid Sally wondering the same
Nikila Suppala I looked it up and it’s not illegal, it’s just that in the uk we manufacture our cars differently
Hundreds of thousands of UK motorists take their vehicles to the continent (mainland Europe) each year where the locals drive on the right hand side of the road. Having done it myself numerous times, there is no issue with having the steering wheel on the opposite side!
@@ontheroadagainwithvinny931 Its a pain in the arse when you have to pay a toll !
Didn't see someone comment this so I'll do my civic duty and telly ou where they get all the rocks to build the fences for. The rocks are from the fields, so when the fields were cleaned to be farmed they Just as well made fences to separate the fields. They are all over rural Norway also, so if you do a Scandinavia trio you'd see way more
this may sound so odd but im waiting for the natures head composting toilet review lol enjoy your europe tour!!
Not odd at all... we are SO excited to share allllll about it! Mini review coming in next week's vlog :)
the photo montage at 18:00 was so cool! I've not seen that done in youtube videos before and given me a great idea for some of my videos where I miss out on video footage but fill in with still footage! thanks for the inspo!
Love you guys so much ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you Sarah! Lots of love right back at you :)
Eamon & Bec guys I am in a university class in Melbourne Australia called Making Video- and we had to share our favourite youtubers/vloggers with the class and I shared you guys! Everyone was so intrigued and found you guys captivating just like I do :)))
in the uk, the white cliffs of dover are a must! they are beautiful and then so is the new forest! and for plastic free, some waitrose stores have a completely plastic free section, and it’s not too expensive:)) your channel is amazing as always and glad you’ve come to explore the uk and other countries in europe! xx
Hallo Amon& Bec i LOVE YOU so much and you are such good people💖💖💖
Hi Kyriaki! Thank you so much for taking the time to send some love today!! We send it all right back at you :)
I’m from the uk and I agree, the plastic problem in this country is awful! Thankfully most people are becoming more aware and choosing better options like loose veg and markets
Love watching you guys and love following your adventures as it’s giving me inspiration on where to go when I finally get my van done!
Excited for all your ad-van-tures ahead Alice ❤️
Was cracking up at the footage of everyone at the water park😂
Glad you were reunited with Trinity. Excited to see more.
So glad to see you guys back in trinity ^^ also your accents compared to all of the British accents 😂
We are SO happy to be HOME!! Hahahah do we sound even more Canadian around everyone else!?
@@eamonandbec sometimes but it is mostly specific words and everyone sounds very northern
Thank you for the video always watch you guys.
all the plastics in the supermarkets is a big issue. I am a fan of the Indie Projects for long great to see favourite you tubers meeting up. Greetings from the Netherlands xxx
That’s wonderful!! Thanks for tuning in and spending a part of your day with us ❤️
I love your Videos i live in germany do you come to Germany ?
Das wäre so schön!
That would be great, I want to see how someone else sees our Country
The guy with the cat Looks like Casper...
findet ihr nicht?
Your workouts are really paying off! Can you do a video detailing what you do and how long you dedicate to workouts? I’m interested to see what’s working for you and compare!
This is going to be the most incredible adventure! I just recently found your channel and I love it! Thank you for sharing your lives with us ❤️ I’ve always wanted to try Van life but not sure if I could do it!
Christina Marie thank you for choosing to hit subscribe and join our journey Christina!!! Excited to show you more of Europe this year ❤️
A tip for the fuel prices, never get it on the motorway!! Always so much more expensive. There is a supermarket called Tesco and usually the garages next to the store (if there is one) are more reasonably priced. So excited to see what you think of the U.K. Loving the videos so much and can't wait to see where you go.
Are you coming to Rooooome? Here petrol and food is cheaper 😉😁 if you come...you are welcome for a vegan dinner!
Travel up to Sweden, visit the Ice hotel and the tree hotel! Just for the experinece to see it. You don’t have to sleep there just check it out!
Those brick walls are probably much older than 100 years old
Hahha Eamon isn't much of a history buff ;P
aka a decade
@@taskiaifrat9116 a decade is only ten years?
They’re probably a couple of centuries old. They will have been rebuilt and repaired repeatedly.
If Roman like 2000 or more.
so awesome guys. the best part to live free and find others with the same filosify. best wishes
I’ve been waiting for this vid all week 😍😍 love u guys xx
We love you right back Milly!! Thank you for spending your Sunday with us :)
Thank you 😊 I hope you enjoy England 🏴
