Remember Jack very well having watched him on HR Puff n’ Stuff in my youth. So sad he passed away so young, but he did provide much happiness to many people in his short life
So sad I remember as a kid the film Oliver was a staple in our home Watched it every time it aired Jack’s portrayal as the artfull dodger was one of my favourite characters ❤
I remember him from the movie Oliver. Excellent entertainer. It's sad he threw his life away for Alcohol. 😢 And yes! It's very cool 😎 Davy Jones was on the same Ed Sullivan show as the Beatles debut 😀 in America 🇺🇸
I would watch HR Pufinstuf sometimes. But I loved "Oliver" and even owned the soundtrack album.. this was waaay before VCR or DVD. He was really talented
I was a little girl when I saw Oliver at the movies. When the movie was over, I couldn't get Jack's Cockney accent out of my head. From then on, I had UK fever. RIP Jack Wild !
That short clip from Ed Sullivan looks like it may have included the glamorous Georgia Brown from the Oliver cast! She did the most beautiful profile shots!
Happy Friday Steve. Like many, i loved HR Puffin stuff , Witchy poo was my favorite. So glad i stopped smoking and drinking !!!!! Was always terrified of emphysema or Cancer. Cheers 😊
Jack Wikd was so cute and handsome a very charismatic and talented actor from a child through his adult years. I grew up wat hi g him I was glued to the TV when HR puffin stuff was on!!❤❤😢😢
I've lost count of the many people I've seen die of alcoholism. I've seen them die as young as 32 to their early 60's. In every case they lost any natural attractiveness gifted to them and in many cases they lost their ability to cognitive process information. I'm a scientist and I have many world renown colleagues who developed Korsakoff syndrome, AKA, alcohol induced dementia. Among my colleagues was a man who made invention of a technology that touches all of our lives everyday. My colleague was arrogant, would not listen to anyone, my intellectual and scientific superior, and he had the one attitude that I've seen kill every alcoholic I've ever known; he felt sorry for himself, there are few things that kill faster than self-pity. At the end of his life he knew that he had done irreparable injury to his brilliant mind; thus, began an insidious battle between his his fear of death (which would inspire brief periods of sobriety) and the pull back to drinking that was driven by the realization that he had lost what made him who he once was.
I remember him from Oliver and HR Puffinstuf. I thought he was adorable. He must have been an extremely heavy drinker to damage his health the way he did. That youthful face was replaced by the face of a much older and sicker man. R.I.P.
It's really a shame how some of these young actors let drugs and alcohol ruin their life. Well I guess that wouldn't be just actors. That could be just anybody?.
Okay...this will be a bit off the beaten path....but...My little sister was a huge Fan of Jack Wild. Me and my brothers teased her often about her pin up idols she hung on her walls in her bedroom. One day I could help notice how much Jack actually resembled a Pro Wrestler that I watched from time to time on the then early days of cable tv. This wrestler's name was "Superstar" Bill Dundee who was also British and resembled Jack in height as well. This video really brought back some childhood memories! MOO From COW-lumbus, Ohio 👋
I'm getting closer to my 'sad ending' and I can't think about it to much because it really bothers me alot. It's scary to think that we all have an ending date already determined, but we just don't happen to know when that is. That's what bothers me.😬 I really do love all your mini-documentaries! They're all done so great! Sorry for rambling.😊
Speaking for myself, I understand everyone and everything will have a sad ending. Nobody gets out alive, so I try not to worry about it. I hope there's a Heaven and pray there's no Hell. On a lighter note, hang on until the sad end and thanks for watching my videos!
I do remember Jack Wild. I had a copy of TV Guide from 2000, and there was an article of child actors: Where are they now? and Jack Wild was one of them in the article.

He was great as the Artful Dodger in Oliver! So sad he destroyed his health with alcohol. Such a waste of life. Very sad indeed.
My Saturday mornings were dedicated to watching HR Pufnstuf!
I hated that program, I found it stomach churning.
You and me both

The ultimate Artful Dodger.
I am in my mid 20's now and have been crushing on Jack Wild for a few years! My favorite is when he was on Sigmund and The Sea Monsters
For some reason I have a memory of phil Collins being in the audience of a beatles performance in hard days night.
He also played The Artful Dodger on an episode of Bewitched

Steve, do Life And Sad Ending Of Stan Laurel when you get time. Amazing content as always.
I remember him from when I was about 9 years old.
I remember him from Oliver and HR Puffinstuf. I thought he was adorable. He must have been an extremely heavy drinker to damage his health the way he did. That youthful face was replaced by the face of a much older and sicker man. R.I.P.

That was a sad ending. I watched him on H.R. Pufnstuf.
I thought he said, at introduction.."I'm what's left of Steve"!! lolololol
You are like the second person to even notice that. Thanks, Sadly it's true.
It's really a shame how some of these young actors let drugs and alcohol ruin their life. Well I guess that wouldn't be just actors. That could be just anybody?.
Well done 😮
Thanks Danny.

@@TheLifeandSadEnding I like the 'lighter note.' 😄🤝 Thank you!
I sure do remember him on H and R Puffinstuff. It’s so sad about his alcoholism and his sad early death. 😢
😢❤️🙏
first I'd ever heard of him - was he ever exposed to Jimmy Saville?
“Consider yourself…,,,,”
part of the family.
It makes me sad when you say that at the end. 😢
Don't be sad, be glad. Sorry about that.
I do remember Jack Wild. I had a copy of TV Guide from 2000, and there was an article of child actors: Where are they now? and Jack Wild was one of them in the article.
Never heard of him
That's why I'm here.
May God have mercy on his Soul and All Souls. Amen
