MP2002-80 Former President Truman Quotes Adam Clayton Powell About a Jim Crow Army

In this Screen Gems out take, former President Harry S. Truman reads a quote from Congressman Adam Clayton Powell of New York about how African Americans would rise up against bearing arms in the “Jim Crow” army. Mr. Truman calls this a “treasonable statement if ever there was one.” This was probably used in preparation for the Decision series episode, “Man from Missouri.” (MP81-4)
