NOTE! Some of these modules require installing a small ‘helper’ module. Foundry will tell you when those are needed. These are easily installed via the Foundry setup screen.
Here is a JSON file with all the modules I say I use in the video, plus:

What I'd really like to see is a demo of both the player's PoV and your GM PoV with a quick play through of like, walking some, hitting a trap, picking a lock, opening a door, and starting combat. It's hard to feel what basic gameplay will be like especially from the player's PoV.
This is something I've never thought of but is a great idea.
That's a good idea. I certainly felt the need to give GMs using a Foundry a list of mods. My original plan for this video included a brief overview but it was already getting long and I wanted to keep it focused. I dunno if this helps, but Encounter Library has a good overview that GMs can send to their players, too. This, plus players and GMs being online together for a while, I think gives players what they need. The interface is really pretty straightforward (I found it much easier to intuit than Roll20 and Fantasy Grounds, for example)

Yeah I'll second this... ESPECIALLY now. I'm a recent convert and trying to work through the nuances of both PF2e AND FVTT as a DM, I'll need to be versed on the PC's side of things as well. Ugh!

ERRATA (updated 2/22/23):
-Since this video, I also now use "Automated Animations," "JB2A", and for PF2 "PF2e Animations" to add awesome visual and sound effects!
-I've been informed that "T for Target" hasn't been updated for a while, and that *Smart Targeting* (which is more frequently updated) does what that does, plus more.
-"F is for Flat-footed" is no longer supported: use PF2E Keybind Menagerie
-In PF2e, Ctrl + Click does a blind roll only the GM sees.
(I"ll continue to add to this as people bring up more things)

It's always good to see what modules other GMs are using for their setups. There are just so many of them that it can be hard to find some really nice ones.
I keep coming back to this video, it's been very helpful to me as I adjust my foundry game to my own preferences to see what sorts of mods are out there.

29:45 - you can Ctrl+Click to do this even faster! Shift+clicking a button will open the detailed window, but Ctrl+clicking a button will specifically make it a blind roll (because this comes up often).

Yes, PF2e in Foundry as far as I've seen is super well done - I also GM Starfinder, and the Starfinder implementation currently is a bit rough in comparison. The main benefit for PF2e over D&D is that the SRD means that all the rules stuff is free, PLUS the existence of official PDFs allows for automatic importing of adventures.

Great video - probably needs an update. PF2E vision binding is no more but there is a 'PF Rules-Based NPC Vision' module.
Do you have an updated list of mods that you use now in 2023? or is it still the same setup? Love you content!

I am new to PF2E as well as Foundry. If I may ask, do you host your games locally with players connecting to your computer or use a hosting service? The reason that I ask is because I worry about storage space on a hosted service, I am sure importing the entire Bestiary etc. along with a large selection of modules takes up quite a bit of space. I want to use sounds, sound effects, and music. This is what triggers my worry about hosting services.
Hi. Really enjoying the content. A question about token action hud if I may, When i hover over the the tabs the drop down menu is in black and makes it hard to see. been looking for ages for a fix but was unsuccessful. Help? thanks in advance
PF2e Player Settings does not showing up for me ... dang. I do have a PF world too. I also do not see the Pathbuilder import module but I DO see the Herolab one ( version issue maybe? )
Unfortunately, Pathbuilder 2e import is currently not available, changes in the pathfinder module broke his code, and it's changing often enough that he didn't feel like trying to fix it till things settled down

The torch is still on; I just "took the torch off" the area to the right by moving Kyra to the south. Then when I click Harsk, it changes from Kyra's point of view to Harsk's.
So with Game Worlds, do you only run ONE adventure per world -- which it looks like? What if you're running a campaign with several modules? Is there an issue with loading in those adventures into a single world?
hi, could i ask you the specs of your pc? (cpu, gpu, ram) i want to move from roll20 to foundry but i'm concerned that my pc can't handle the software even if i match the minimum requirements: does the different modules showed in this video have a great impact on the performance when activated simultaneously? thanks in advice!
I have 16GB RAM and IIRC got this computer about 3-4 years ago as a "gamer computer" in the 1800-2000 range. Dunno if that helps. Here's a thread from 2021 where specs are discussed: www.reddit.com/r/FoundryVTT/comments/lskzk1/system_requirements/
In my experience, and that of my players, Foundry is faster than Roll20 on any given system...so if you're happy with Roll20 as it is now, you have more than enough power to play with Foundry. Note that they also have a web-demo on their site you can try out if you want to be sure!
NB: We don't use a lot of mods. I have like three enabled - they *can* add lag. One of my users has to disable Dice so Nice because his potato machine can't handle the 3D dice hehe. So don't go nuts with fancy graphical mods if you don't have a lot of spare power.

I dont know if you'll respond to a question on a video from a year ago. I just started using foundry and am running a game for a group. I was curious if there was a good source for stated up npc's. I'm not using a pre built world so I'm having to make everything from scratch. So if I could avoid having to make npc's from scratch as well, that would be great...
All the NPCs from the Gamemastery Guide can be found in the Compendiums. Under the search bar in Compendium Packs, you can type in things like "Commoner" a statblock shows up.
Are there any modules that work with Wanderer's guide in foundry?

Hi there, I am currently looking into buying foundry and came across your video. So I am not sure you will respond as you did this video over a year ago. My main concern is that this computer program seems geared to be used over the internet and not for in person games. My group is in person. Thus I am wondering if you have done a video or are there videos you are aware of that show if this program can easily be used for in person games? There are very few game master programs that work well with pathfinder 2e and this one seems to help with the work of getting through combat quickly.
I wouldnt mind a revamp of this video, many of the tools you are listing are not on foundry anymore. maybe the old ones still work but they cannot be searched or they have had their name changed.
If I buy this for my group, is it easy to switch GM roles? We often take turns running games.
I'm not sure if you locally host. I use cloud hosting with the Forge where it's pretty clear how you can hand things off.
The host can make someone an "Assistant GM" meanwhile.
On my Discord server we have a #vtt-advice channel where people can answer you better and quickly!
Yes it is. You just log in as the gamemaster, regardless of where the server is hosted.

Can you effectively automate EVERY modifier/ability in Foundry?
Not sure exactly what you mean: it's constantly being improved in terms of being able to apply conditions on tokens.
But notably the ability to add/subtract hit points is not something they plan to do, as they will leave that to the GM and players to make a final decision

Hmm I don't remember if it activates modules for you. On my server in #vtt-advice people are very helpful and can give you better advice
prolly should add a addendum as some of the modules are no longer supported or legal as Paizo is now official content

Many of them work for D&D 5e, so many of them should work, yes
I'd you don't pay for a subscription is it possible to create a character without being invited to a game first?
You need to buy the software to make a character. There is a Web Demo on Foundry's website (a 24/7 live server) that lets you explore the interface and menus, but you don't get to make characters. Btw Foundry doesn't involve a subscription; you pay the one-time cost for the software and it gets updated for free.

BTW, I think "Kyra" is pronounced like "Kira". That's the official word, anyhow. Not sure why they chose to do that - you'd think it'd be pronounced like "Tyra", right?
