In game, one double platform station can only have a max of 200 passengers, so in high pop areas it is worth putting a couple of cheap short tram stations that join to it to increase station capacity. 1=200, 2=500 3=1000 so two connected but unused tram platforms will increase your station capacity to 1000 and let your trains fill up in rush hour.
The open ground your tunnel comes out in from the Derby station you put in is an old train build and marshalling yard, for Bombardier these days, trains are still built there for the London underground amongst others. The Long Eaton section goes into a station and reverses ends to go between Notts and Derby, you can see the Y shape just below your track.
You might get happier passengers if you set the estimated travel time to roughly the right time, seems like the game is calculating ist as late Train otherwise
As a resident of Derby myself, it's pronounced Derby, not Derby. Hope that's cleared that up. Also, not sure you'll get the 5k passengers now you've put a train station bang in the middle of our shopping centre, ruining the local economy... :P Loving this series - waiting for you to run railway track through my house.
If you send the trains to the depot each night it would save you loads of money. I think it cost you around $80,000-$100,000 during that one night. As far as I could tell passengers didn't show up until 4:00 in the morning. Also, it could easily pay off to add more intermediate stations to the railway. I don't know if you can do that on previously built lines but it would be excellent if you can. You were definitely right about adjusting line speeds before building in the future too.
There is a text file in your local files for this game called 'demand' which you can open with Notepad and it tells you what the demand will be for each day of the week split into 24 hour time slots and local, region and long-distance travel. Be aware though, that if you have passengers on the train and it suddenly starts heading for the depot, then they get very upset and demand a refund.
If a train sits in a depot, does it still have running costs? if not can the dev break down tickets sold or passenger per hour per 24 hour schedule? So if there are no passenger after for eg. 8 PM, then you can send the trains to the depot for the night and not have them running empty..... thoughts?
At the beginning i was sceptic to this game comparing to openTTD, but i think, i was wrong with my scepticcness - seems to be a very interesting kind of Transport Tycoon Game. My idea is: do an open game for a number of viewers and let them battle out wo will set up a complany with a target you may set to such a challenge.
It's a shame you can't delete roads to make it easier. Anyway for a lew comments and suggestions... I wonder if you can extend the line to Birmingham eventually as a big place that could really work out, also those ticket prices do seem, a bit high. I think $1.50 a mile on top of the base figure (which I think you set it to last time) probably doubles a lot of the the real world prices at least. It's not surprising you've got people at least somewhat unhappy about that in-game.
@@MasterHellish-Gaming @Master Hellish - Gaming Ah yes so it is. Sorry, I'm used to working in miles or mph (which I even have the speeds in openTTD set to). Since a km is shorter that just makes them even more expensive ;)
Hi um I have a question about openttd my first game didn’t go so well I went bankrupt really fast 2nd game I watched you quick tutorial video i got a score of 816 I was losing money on everything except boats I was making 800k a year from them but there was 4 farms close to each udder I linked up with trucks but then 2 of them disappeared with in 6 months the 3rd one disappeared with in like 3 years the 4th is still active after like 75 years so may I ask why those 3 disappeared I had 1 station and 1 grain and 1 livestock truck at everyone Ps thank you I have watched your entire tutorial playlist now and I’m excited to try some of the thinks you have teached me when I finally get home I will start to watch your first season/playtrough of openttd sorry for the wall of text
Master Hellish - Gaming ok then I miss understood you I thought you said that at 40% it will start to grow slowly and it grows the fastest at 80% anyway thank you teacher il be sure to bring you an apple next time we meet
It's Derby like Barbie. Not Durby like Furby. Edit: 10:10 I think bulldozing the Derbion (Formerly Intu (Formerly Westfield)) Centre would be a good idea, shouldn't have been built in the first place.
The strange people who live there call Derby "Dar - By" Technically its a Danish Name. Der By - Meaning "There Town". Just like Grimsby is also Danish and they thought it was an ugly town... Grim - Ugly .

"I think it'd be really good to have more trains"
Always
yes, I'm aware of Derby being pronounced both Derby and Derby.
I think Darrrrrby is more common.

ohhhhhhh... That makes senses. I assumed if it was 0 then it just used and auto or default value instead.
You can control individual rail directions with a directional flow control in the signals menu. That will make the trains run on the left rails.

I will look into having more stations on that main line. Thanks

$96 for a 26 minute journey and you don’t know why the passengers are sad? Give it a little more thought.
Take a look at Google Maps when you aren't sure of the path a train takes through built up areas. Your route from Derby to Nottingham wasn't correct.
I could do. However, working it out is part of the fun for me.

I believe that's the way it works. It would save a lot of money.
It would save a little bit of money
How does the game handle train changing direction? I don't really know how they do in real life either.
It just turns... Like magic

At the moment this game is co-op only BUT I think competitive is something that will be coming at some point.
@@MasterHellish-Gaming Co-op could also be a good base for some nice series or even streams :-)

You need to keep the "transported" amount for the industry high or it can close down. I think it's above 40%. You need it above 80% to grow.

Too bad there's no mobile version because when you're on a Let's Play series on Openttd I play at the same time.
More OpenTTD coming next week

It's called Nimby Rails and AFAIK it's not free

It plays very different as well.
