I have this new module installed and generally quite happy when it works. But about once a week the touchscreen becomes unresponsive.
The module works, as Android Auto auto connects, and i can use my back button on steering wheel to return to native menu to play music from usb, but i have no interaction from touchscreen untill i pull the power fuse to reset. Is a firmware update available, or a way to fast reset from steering wheel?
Hi, have you calibrated the touchscreen?
After the module is restored to factory settings, the touch function cannot be used and needs to be recalibrated:

1. Find a pen and long press the screen
2. After the touch calibration interface pops up, click the middle of the calibration "cross" that appears on the screen
3. The touch function is restored to normal use
@@ZTUZAUTOunfortunately the recalibration will not work. The touchscreen controls the VW Radio in the background behind the carplay display. Carplay doesn't recognise the inputs. Removing power by pulling fuse used to correct this issue, but it has stopped doing that so will have to return as faulty. Was very good when it worked but unusable without touchscreen controls. 😢

So the red 12 wire ribbon cable seen on the desk is no longer needed?
If the package you received contains a red cable, you need to connect the red cable. We have now updated the latest version of the module, which does not come with a red cable. The version is different.
With new version, does right side control knob still work in CarPlay mode or is red cable needed for that?
@@WHTMAN-ei7ik Effectively, the function of the red cable has been replaced by the new software version, so there is no need to worry about loss of functionality.
@@WHTMAN-ei7ik right side control knob has no function in carplay mode. Unless you have audio in via Bluetooth, then it controls tracks from SoundCloud etc. but it does that on the RNS510 anyway.
