In terms of why people like Walt: Beyond how people often like the anti-hero, the show set Walt up as being a good man, husband, father and teacher who absolutely got zero respect from anyone in his life outside of his son. In the pilot episode, Walt turns 50--a huge milestone--and gets turkey bacon instead of actual bacon ("It smells like band-aids" lol)...has one of his students blatantly disrepect him during class, where you can see Walt absolutely loves Chemistry so the juxtaposition is pretty obvious. His boss at the car wash shows no respect whatsoever towards him, and the same student who disrespected him in his own classroom ridicules him while he's working at that car wash--even takes his photo while he and his girlfriend are laughing at him. Goes home to a surprise birthday party, where instead of celebrating Walt's arrival into the world they just dismiss him further--Hank actually takes Walt's drink FROM HIM while toasting him (and the toast is full of insults to boot) and drinks it in front of him. Immediately afterwards they show everyone at Walt's 50th birthday party gathered around the TV admiring Hank's accomplishment (his big drug bust) while Walt stands alone in the background...that shot said quite a lot. Hank basically took over the party and made it all about him...not purposefully, but he still did it. To top it off, Skyler ends up giving him a disinterested hand job while she checks her stocks. And then he finds out he has cancer and only 2 years to live. The show set it up rather well so that the audience would sympathize with him and continue to do so even though his choices started to spiral downward. Once he told his boss at the car wash "Fuck you, AND your eyebrows" the show was saying Walt was done being disrespected. People get behind that and it's not easy to let that go, both in terms of characters on TV and in movies, and in real life. And if you're a meth cook, lying it basically part of the job description lol...so that's not a deal breaker for most.
Beautifully stated endorphinz!!! So many details going into these characters. I’m very interested to see how the reactors progress toward Walt as the series goes on! - Editor
I empathised with him in the main, until something happens later on (and I think most know what part I mean), then I was done with him despite his moments of genius. If he really wanted to do things for his family, he would have emasculated himself and took Gretchen and Elliot's money, and sucked it up, because that is protecting his family now and for the future - and being a man as the woman in the middle says. Going off and doing meth, was a selfish, cowardly act which hurts everyone in his vicinity.
Not gonna lie, I did really sympathize with him for quite a while. However there is just so much he does that makes me hate him. And hate him pretty early on too. Season 1 Walter was understandable… season 2 we’re standing on thin ice.. season 3-4-5 absolutely broke the ice. Lmao he’s a GREAT character. Very well written, don’t get me wrong. Just not one that has my respect. The reason I am also this way though is because of all the death threats that Walter stans sent to Anna Gunn for her portrayal of Skyler.. I have a very short fuse when it comes to people who make death threats to real actors/actresses just because of characters they play. It’s made me lose respect for Walter fans you could say.. great character, just not such great fans. And by that extensión people will hate Walter because of how his fans act. Also like how people hate the joker because of how his fans act. I’d like to add too, none of this is me accusing you of anything. Just saying that’s how I see it and it may be how some others see it too.
To me, they are not enjoying it at all. They HATE Walter. At first I was like the rest of the Audience, I loved Walt, but after watching so mamy BB reactions, I don't think he's a hero. Hes just a very flawed human.
@@rondog5 They hate a character so they're not enjoying a show? Seems like you're just a Walter stan lol. I hate Walter but BB is my all time favourite show. Walter is not a good person.
I don't do a lot of commenting on reaction channels, just mainly enjoy them. But I just want to say how much I look forward to this from you guys, and your discussions are really insightful. Also, how do you only have 364 subscribers? Well done, excited for more...
Amen on this whole commentary. When the show came out eveyone I watched it with rooted for Walt this whole time - I thought I was the only one who hated Walt. Testify 👏
Your reactions in this episode are a total riot! So much so that I'll forgive the absence - yet again - of the tortilla blanket. Really enjoying the show! Thank you! 🌯😋
I never understand why this channel hasn`t got more followers...you guys are soooooooo awesome! I am a big Skyler fan and would usually fight for her against everyone, but it's kinda fun to hate her through your eyes just this once. :D Thank you for this new perspective. :D
I didn't want to say it last week, but this is one of the toughest episodes of the series. If you can stick with it from here, you're golden. I know you watch these episodes in blocks, but if you haven't already seen 2x7 and onward, you have some really great episodes coming up! Also, you don't have to worry about not liking Walt. This is where the show gets good :)
I think it is awesome that you do not like Walt. He is really not a good person imo. I do have a lot of compassion for his wife. She has been lied to, manipulated, ignored etc. all while having to deal with her pregnancy and the serious physical & hormonal issues that come with that. And of course who does not like Jesse 😎
Great show!!!!!!!!! Lol. I could not wait between episodes!!!!!! Lol. Walt’s not so bad. Men make ridiculous stupid decisions and omit and lie. He’s trying to juggle lie upon lie. 🤣🤣🤣
Glad to see the ladies maturing in their reactions to this now as they are familiarising themselves with the show. They are seeing the moral ambiguity of this series and its endless permutations. No matter how many times I watch BB, it always brings something new.

@@shugaroony I wouldn't say it was some cowardly act. It's honestly easy to empathize with his thought process behind it
I was with Walt up until he let Jane die , even though she didn’t mean anything to him she meant something to Jesse. That was unforgivable
So now we know ATM's require a blood sacrifice to open.
😂
Spooge was a sacrifice that the ATM demanded...
"I'm selling mad volume and fat stacking Benjies you know what I'm sayin'?? I can't be all about like... spelling and shit"
12:41 lmfao right after she says "people are stupid" you couldn't have edited in a better spot 🤣

You guys need to upload more than just one a week lol. its oddly addicting to watch someone enjoy BB for the first time
Yes!!!! C'mon girls you can double up. Pleeez lol

@@rondog5 It's when they don't care about a character is when you have to worry. Love, hate, etc. is all good.
Spooge referring his wife (?) as "slit" is one of the most disturbing things I've ever heard in a TV show lmao
Jessie telling the crack head kid to have a good rest of his life is just crazy , knowing damn well that that baby is doomed 😂

Thank you, Brad! That’s so kind! We’re having a lot of fun!!
I love Walter as a character, he is amazing 😍
As a person in real world, I don't think I liked single character in this show
Except Badger, we all love Badger! :P
Walt Jr keeps it 100% at all times.
Walt Jr. Becomes " HEISBOY" in BB2! I have friends in high places at AMC......BUT..... I've probably said too much as it is.....my BAD!!

It’s about the relationship between Gretchen and Walt with Gretchen cheating or leaving to be with his best friend it’s not about the money.
It’s at this point in the show where I don’t understand how people could ever hate Jesse and instead like Walt.

"the slit"
That's a new one. Took me a minute to figure out what he meant by slit.

@@ReactionSquad Thats awesome,i sign up right away. I keep checking your channel every week. Greetings from Florida.🙋♂️🙋♂️🙋♂️🤝🤝🤝
Thank you so much Karl! We’re so glad you’re watching with us!
Who's the dude behind the camera? Will he ever show himself?
That would be Bryan, Jammie’s husband. And probably not 😂 He’s already watched BB and loves reaction channels, so this is all his doing.
He's like Charlie and they're his angels (ok that was a little weird but that's the only invisible character I can think of)
🤦🏼♀️😂
@@ReactionSquad I kind of like the setup tbh, gives a documentary feel to the reactions and talk at the end.
