It's amazing how I remember the guitar parts more so than the lyrics.
this is not a song for technical / shredders posers guys. Only true artists with a huge sens of feeling and music sensitivity can play this song. this is the ultimate test of being an artist or not. Hat off Man. you really nailed it. such a very hard song to feel and to master with various tempos.

There are certain pieces of music that cannot be easily interpreted by other great guitarists, and you are a great musician, but noone can play this better than David Gilmore in my opinion, purposefully lyrical, fluid, calm and precise. Perfection personified.

It's hard to improve upon original perfection, only my opinion of course and I like The Police too lol.
Absolute nonsense. Any piece of music can be interpreted by anyone with reasonable skill. If I wanted to hear an exact fucking copy, I'd listen to the original. But implying that no one should try, or could never have their own spin on it is asinine.

I have no words to describe how beaautiful that was, or the way it made me feel inside. I don't think there are any that exist. Not in English, anyway.
Gilmour could really bend those notes however he pleased. While not the most technical, they flowed so well and really complimented the music. There was a unique art to his style and while 'basic' it's truly beautiful. His guitar fit in with the band and made their music as a whole, greater than the sum of its parts.
