We also share our love for cultural food at a family wedding where we were treated with in ground made hangi and a delicious spread of seafood and much more. Hello from Sydney Australia. I just saw you drive past my brothers house just out of Gizzie over the bridge. Kaiti hill has the best view of Gisborne. I actually went to high school there Gisborne Girls. Aaah! Memories. I have heaps of whanau there and all up the coast too ❤

On 18 March 1970 nearly 60 sperm whales stranded along Wainui Beach, some of them, as in this image, on the jagged rocks at the base of Tatapōuri Point. Observers recalled that the sea was red with blood. Controversy broke out when some sightseers tried to take body parts as souvenirs, in one instance with a chainsaw. 🐋🐋🐋
