Heavy cavalry are not meant to be taken in and out of combat. They wear out, lose their effectiveness, and get hit by arrows in their undefended rears. You can effectively scout with them, a little, but ultimately their purpose is in combination with infantry.

I played this mod last week, and even with bran macs increased aggression mods, I conquered all of the middle east and Anatolia as the Byzantines, without fighting a single field battle. I'm going back to Rome 2's 1100 AD mod, which is actually challenging. If anyone else finds this mod too easy as well, and wants to stay on Attila, instead of Rome 2; I highly recommend 555 Age of Justinian, gives you a unique experience and is a challenge.
Hello friend. nice game, and an excellent battle too. I believe the crown of Aragon will be a nice faction to try since the crown of Aragon don't have archers units. and, good luck.
Kyiv Rus' has nothing to do with the modern Russia, which emerged from Moscovy. Kyiv Rus' was more geographicaly and culturally linked with modern Ukraine. For example, currency - hryvnia and national emblem - tryzub.

You really shouldn't be running Brans AI but rather activate the Judgement Day challenge that's built in to 1212. Brans AI completely alters the 1212 mod teams vision for the campaign by giving all factions way too much money, too many armies and too easy of a time maintaining public order.
I'm not sure Catholicism as a subdivision of Christianity was a thing yet. Iirc, sources don't mention that word until after the Protestant reform. Until then, it was Christians, Orthodox (Greek? Slavic?) Christians and then anything else was considered heresy (Arians, Cathars, etc)
Bit late of a response, but no. The West split away and became known as "Latins" by the East (Slavs, Greeks, Middle Eastern Orthodox). The name "Roman Catholic" wasn't used for a long time but it's still accurate.
Kievan Rus encompassed the territories of Ukraine, Belarus, and Western Russia. The capital has moved around several times in history. What with our tendency for infighting it shouldn’t come as any surprise that it would fracture and dissolve into bickering princedoms after the mongol invasion. Moscow would emerge as the premier power in the region, but its culture originated from the Kievan Rus.
It's Kyïv and it's Ukraine, our history and heritage. The view of people from the west is extremely influenced by Russians. Please, try to learn something about Kyïvan Rus' and Ukraine before saying very offensive and dumb things about our history.
