I was just wondering if you could answer a question. Why did Paul baptize a gentile jailer? Thanks

The baptism took place during the transition period of Acts, when Paul performed miracles and circumcised Timothy as well. Baptism was required at the beginning of Acts by Peter (Acts 2:38). Baptism transitioned to after salvation with Cornelius (10:44-48). Paul baptized the Philippian jailer and his household after he just "believed on the Lord Jesus Christ," and was saved by faith alone. During Paul's imprisonment in Rome at the end of Acts, Paul declared that there was "one baptism" (Eph. 4:5), a baptism performed by the Holy Spirit which identifies the believer with Christ's death, burial, and resurrection and joins them with the Body of Christ.
