Bro, the upstart people spend everything they have. On the other hand, rich people are stingy and tend to save money a lot. Upstart buy the most expensive materials and things they don't want. In contrast, rich people tend to use the same item for many years and don't throw things. Upstart eat at the restaurants and fast food on the run instead of cooking at home. There is a saying " save your white dime for your dark day "

Start worrying about setting your mind. Instead of worrying about our mindsets.

Sorry, $100,000/yr is NOT achievable for me. I make 1/4 that. But the budgeting, monthly savings, and side hustles and not stopping once you reach comfort sounds like good advice. I could work more... Thanks for not saying you got to work HARDER. I work plenty hard.

100,000/yr is absolutely achievable, but you have to think long term, not next month ;)

@@PracticalWisdom OK. I currently have 2 jobs, one for $23/hr, one for $20.50/hr, best hourly wages I've ever had, except when I was self employed and charged $25/hr, but there weren't many of those paid hours in a day, most of it was organizing, buying, communicating, marketing, not actually producing. (I was a custom seamstress). I don't do that any more, but could start a side hustle. I need to at least sell off my leftover stock. I currently work as a custodian, 20 hrs/wk, 5 days/week. 4 or 5 hrs is enough, I'm 50 year old and 6 hrs a day gets me exhausted. It's physical work. I enjoy being useful and productive though, and the quiet and autonomy, working evenings. I like to wake up naturally in the morning, no rush, and go to work when I choose (anytime after 5pm). I like to take care of things, work with my hands, and do a good job and receive appreciation, hence custodial. I have been offered an extra 2 hrs/wk if I do it on a 6th weekday. I have been keeping 2 days/wk strictly off so far. But I think about doing something at home in the day to earn... would be good. I also have some money invested at the bank and I own my house outright. SO I've got a few aspects right! My rent in the city used to be 53% of my income.

@@PracticalWisdom So after learning that, do you still think I could ever make $100,000. /yr? I have long had the goal of reaching $35,000. I did accept the extra 2 hrs/week, and juggled my jobs to fit better. I like that my work is in bite size, 2 hr chunks, and that I can pretty much make my own schedule. It's the closest thing to self employment and homemaking going. I have always loved that I could make money just making beds, dusting and vaccuuming. Best of both worlds! I've also dabbled in house flipping. Maybe eventually, I'll be able to borrow money, based on my job, to flip houses I don't live in. Hmmm. Cool use of a mortgage!

@@brightphoebusI made 3 figures a month for most of my adult life. 5 figures a year was a pipe dream. The only constant was I invested and believed in myself. I set a goal that by 2020 I’d be making 6 figures and run a million dollar business. Fast forward to now and I achieved both. Your greatest enemy is your own mind.

@@yoz2k25 Wow, what an achievement you've made! I have always had difficulty believing in myself, or sticking to any one thing. I get discouraged and start over. I have decided to set aside $500./mo for investing, then when my GIC matures, add it to it. Eventually switching to mutual funds, but I don't feel that would be wise at this point yet. I'd have to commit to not selling my house and buying another fixer upper further south. I live in the far north now, far from my family. My goal has never been to make a six figure salary. I always went the other direction, to live off as little money as possible and escape the rat race. There lies the difference I suppose. During my 7 years self employment I earned about $600./mo. and we owned our house. Then I got divorced and threw everything to the wind! My life turned upside down. Thanks for your replies. I appreciate the human personalized input and acknowledgement. 😊You are an inspiration. Thanks for your videos.
