    Game is fantastic. Nice and short to play and learn but a decent amount of depth.

    Is it time for an updated Top Ten Social Deduction Games list? Maybe then you'll actually have to play Secret Hitler! Lol. :)

    Well, the one thing I watched to find out about was never mentioned, The Mastermind card. I needed to know what happened if the Mastermind and Ronin both survived to the end.

    • @BlueTorchWeddings
      @BlueTorchWeddings ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That's easy, they both get stars. The ronin is only trying to survive, that's it. Once they survive they get a star regardless of which team wins

    "There are too many social deduction games."
    No. There are not enough GOOD social deduction games.
    Meanwhile, we don't hear this type of complaint about "worker placement," "drafting," "area control," "negotiation," "deck building," "escape room," etc.. all of which have way more games than social deduction.

    • @thedicetower
      @thedicetower  2 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      My argument here would be social deduction games all feel the same, while those other things you mentioned have a much wider arena.

    Kind of wish they did Roy G Biv for order of cards to be played. That would help my kids. Otherwise good game.

    This or Bang the Dice Game?

    • @GeorgeRaptidis
      @GeorgeRaptidis 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They are 2 different games I would say. I am a major fan of Bang and Dice and I own all the DLCs that come with it. I must say that I love dice games so bang has a special place in my heart. That being said I strongly feel like in order to have a full Bang experience it would be best to also get the Old Saloon expansion and perhaps the Undead or Alive, which will up the cost of the game. Night of the Ninja also seems like a very well made game and it doesn't seem complex at all so maybe your best bet would be this. However if you want to invest in a game Bang would be the option here. Hope I could help. feel free to ask me anything else

    This seems a lot like coup without the money.

      I thought so too, at first, but when I started playing it, I found that they're actually very different, or different enough. I liked this one better than Coup.

    I'm kinda annoyed at "being tired of social deduction games". There are an awful lot of **very** different social deduction games, way more different than most eurogames between themselves...

    • @thedicetower
      @thedicetower  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That would be an interesting debate, because I REALLY disagree. I think, at most, there are about four or five different ways to play Social Deduction.

    • @AndiVx
      @AndiVx 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@thedicetowerhaha. I'd love to discuss this. I think I can think more than 5 very different types in my own collection.
      - Resistance/Avalon/Secret Hitler/¿Quest?
      - Deception: Murder in Hong Kong
      - Good Cop Bad Cop/Patriots & Redcoats
      - Detective Club/Spyfall/A fake artist goes to New York
      - Obscurio
      - Werewolf/Mafia/Donner Dinner Party/Blood on the Clocktower
      - Hail Hydra/Homeland, Traitor Mechanic and, if you want to be very open about the concept of adding values in secret to an open crisis, you could add BSG & Dead of winter here, even if I wouldn't agree.
      - I will consider Dark Moon a very different game, as you are playing your points openly instead of secretly.
      - Two rooms & a boom
      - Who goes there (meh, I know, not great as a social deduction game)
      - Mafia de Cuba
      - Mantis falls
      And then you have things like Alien encounters from outer space, Chiyo's secret, Nemesis, Salem 1692, and even drafting games with social deduction... And even small changes can make a good game, like the call in Cash & Guns 1 (also kinda the same style that is the core of New Angeles).
      But the main problem is that social deduction has a lot of literal clones (specially from werewolf), and it's way more blatant than most of the unoriginal worker placement games.
      I still think that we have a lot of room for new and more original social deduction games. Specially more complex & involved ones.

      Have you tried Feed the Kraken? I have only seen YT games and it looks cool. I only own Secret Hitler that I bought recently. And now I ordered this Ninja as it feels really enjoyable too.

    • @AndiVx
      @AndiVx ปีที่แล้ว

      @@79_47 no, I haven't tried it yet. Neither that one nor The Thing. Two big hidden traitor games pending! Right now I have way to many of them for being so hard to bring them to the table since the Pandemic hit. But I really wanna try those ones and Blood on the clocktower. But neither of them "unlock" a new kind of social deduction game, so I've no rush to play them.
      Did you enjoy this one? (The Ninja one)
