  • In this video we take an extended look at Gedore's 107 Chisel and Punch Set, as seen in KC Tool Haul #19. You can find time stamps down below. Also of note, KC Tool is celebrating heading to the Gedore Booth at SEMA by giving us 10% off all Gedore tools November 1st - November 27th!
My initial plan was to pick up one of their 6 Piece Sets, however, for not much more it seemed practical to just pop for the larger 12 piece set. After making notes, it would actually be better from a financial stand point to buy the chisels and punches individually (this goes for the 6 and 12 piece sets), unless you really want the stand, or a case. This would also allow you to tailor the set to your particular needs. If I had it to do over again, that is what I would do...although I would have to make my own stand, or modify the smaller one to house the larger chisels.
As is, I still think we did pretty good on the purchase and we now have a very nice, fairly comprehensive set in the shop! The price per individual tool makes these a real bargain...you can find chisels and punches for less, but the quality of the steel and long service life saves money in the long run.

Sadly the cliff notes are that you can line item your own set and save, BUT only if you don't want the sweet stand, haha.

Nice video once again. Kudos. Though I cannot find any use of these chisel tools. On a side note, binge watching your KC tool haul led me to almost $500-$700 purchases with KC & AMZN over the last 2-3 months. Very educational tool videos on screwdrivers , pliers from Knipex, Hazet, Witte, Felo , among the fine German brands that I have never heard of before. A stickler here for sure.

Brilliant minds think alike! I've got a ton of stuff in the works...hopefully anything that catches your eye will be on sale, or Tool of the Day!

I have looked at these and other sets and for my use they are on the pricey side. I just don't use these sorts of tools that often so it's been Harbor Freight cheapos for me. I did snap an HF 3/32" standard pin punch recently though and I ordered a Gedore long-punch (2.4mm) to give that a try. I also picked up a cheap set of HF long pin punches. As for the set vs individual pieces pricing- that reminds me of my Wiha master bit tech set. I noticed that the set without the pouch was on sale once. Combined with the pouch which can be bought separately, it came in like $20 cheaper than if I bought the set that included the pouch. Even when not on sale, it was still a couple of bucks cheaper which seemed odd. I guess that happens here and there though.

I can't lie...I was a bit disappointed doing the math. I mainly based it on the fact that A-I needed them and B-it was a better value than the 6 piece set. While that was true, it didn't translate across the board. The good news is, if you like the pin punch you got, just order them as you will need them and you will save. You can get the 6 slot wooden stand as well. I'm not sure why this one isn't available stand alone, but with that being the case it softens the blow of spending more for a kit. That really is rare...you almost always save at least a few bucks getting a set. Oh well, I am "set" now, haha. Also of note, the center punch here is almost identical to the Hazet one I have.

I am hoping to procure some PB Swiss stuff within a few weeks! (See Also: I really hope there is a Black Friday sale so I can save a little in the event I have to buy sets of screwdrivers instead of individuals).
