Not a book, but a movie: Knives Out. It's beautiful, I've watched it half a dozen times and it is still never boring because the storytelling is absolutely perfect

The Jane Harper books almost always get me. Even when I'm SO sure I've got it figured out, I don't.

The Survivors! You get left with the lies the killer tells...wait, that's not enough to explain the deaths, what really happened?!? So good!

The Murder of Roger Ackroyd made me audibly gasp and I was delighted to have been completely played.

I just wanted to say that I somehow stumbled upon your channel last year in the midst of my whole family having covid. It was so horrible for various reasons and I was in such a reading rut. You recommended 'The Family Upstairs' and I downloaded (my first ever) audiobook and I absolutely loved it. I am now regularly reading again and so I just wanted to say thank you.

Roger Ackroyd is freaking classic!! I agree with a lot of this and thank you for mentioning The Girls (it’s going on my TBR NOW) and Twyford (bumping it up!).
For me The Last House on Needless Street gave me the gasping vibe!

A great video as always! It’s so funny when you mentioned Jane Harper and that she needs to bring out a new book because just before watching your video I saw that there will be a 3rd one in the Aaron Falk series in 2023!!!!!! I still need to read The Survivors though ^^

I'm actually rereading a favorite book right now that has these same vibes, so good: The Scent of Rain and Lightning by Nancy Pickard. I don't usually read too many mysteries but my love of that book leads me to believe I would really love these you've recommended. Off to add them all to my 'to read' list. :)

I always jump in joy when one of your videos comes up! I loooove being played, these are the only thrillers I actually like 🤪 I have read many Lisa Jewell books and I always have that same feeling. I have bought The Lost Man in your recommandation but haven’t read it yet and I will finish my comment with my usual recommandation of either The Double Mother or After the crash by Michel Bussi

I picked up The Lost Man last year on your recommendation and was not disappointed. I figured it out early on but that is typical for me, but I still very much enjoyed the ride. Of course, figuring it out so early on probably says more about me than I care to examine...🤨 The writing was quietly immersive and technically stellar.

Hooooooooly shit, The Twyford Code. I finished it last week and still haven't recovered from the absolute mindfuck. I've never been fooled so thoroughly in my entire life. Absolute brilliance. I can't wait to read it again through a whole new lens. Now let me go put all the rest of these books on my TBR...

I have to recommend Behind Her Eyes by Sarah Pinborough. I thought I had it aaaaaaaaall figured out and then the last few pages were like “Ha HAAAA GUESS WHAT” and it blew my mind. This was my go-to twist ending rec before The Twyford Code.

Great video! This is the exact thing I look for in mystery/thrillers, so I am happily adding books to my tbr! For Big Little Lies, would you recommend still reading it if you've already seen the TV show? I still don't know why I made that life decision since I always prioritize book first, and I've been on the fence about reading the book ever since
