2:00 Schwarzkopf Break Dance? Mmhhhh press X to doubt^^ This one seems to run suuuper slow. The last ones I filmed were traveling ones in germany, they can really crank this thing up. What is it with Huss rides running slow overseas?^^ Skybender looks super fun. I wanna try a ride like this. The Top Spin looks super incredible though. I rode a lot of them, but this one is super creative with the theming. I like this look a lot. The Starflyers from Funtime are amazing. Glad to see them over in the US as well. The cycle is a problem in europe too sometimes. The Beast is a KMG XXL, right? I didn't know you can rotate the seats outwards, that is amazing! Thank you for your insights, as always.
My mom is planning to get tickets for me and my sister + herself so we can go to PNE! Really excited its gonna be are 3rd time going we always go in the summer time! Although I have 2 more weeks of school very very sadly but than 2 months of summer break! EVERYONE ENJOY THEM WHILE IT LASTS Edit 1. Summer was horrible and I didn’t get to go to PNE and I missed the first day of school.
This is a very popular filming location. The former Corkscrew coaster was featured in Final Destination 3, along with the Hellevator. The Revelation ride was the Cranium Shaker in Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days. And a handful of other films had scenes at this park.
I can tell you as a resident of the Lower Mainland in B.C., that Coaster is terrifying without seatbelts. I’ve ridden it ONCE when I was twelve (2016), and I had the luxury of being the only passenger in the very first car at the front. I had to physically press myself into the seat to prevent being launched out of the car! It’s that simple for me to say: NOPE to riding it again. I’m thankful they finally got seatbelts, I’m surprised it hasn’t killed anyone.
I rode coaster with the seatbelts, they make the ride absolutely painful on the airtime hills, but the coaster is pretty much the same other than that. I came off with bruises on my legs lol
Thanks for the review of my homepark! Now only 2 comments on this, 1. The Scrambler was taken out of Playland a few years ago and is now brought in by West Coast Amusements for the PNE Fair. and 2. I have ridden The Coaster more times than anyone as far as I know with close to 5000 rides on it and I can honestly say, the seatbelts are strictly cosmetic and doesn't make the ride worse, the ride is the exact same as it always was, I rode it multiple times in the front, middle, and back both last year and this year and I find absolutely no difference between it with seatbelts or without, I tested out how much give those seatbelts had, I was able to stretch them at least 6 feet and it still kept going, so yeah, those seatbelts are strictly cosmetic.
Playland isn't in Downtown Vancouver but it is in Vancouver Proper, just a few blocks west of the eastern border of Vancouver in its northernmost portion. Downtown Vancouver is a few miles west. Also: The drop tower has three different " settings"or "cycles" or whatever they'r called. You were lucky with it this time because it was on the best one. The worst one just takes you up slowly and drops you. The Beast has many different cycles; short during the fair, once I rode it on the "extreme" setting mode it stayed on max swings for about two full minutes instead of one or two swings. I was just at the PNE last week but didn't get e ride pass. I'll go next year when the new coaster opens.
Great countdown. I love how great views play a vital role to the countdown as it should. A ride on a Ferris Wheel in flat Nebraska maybe mid, but one with a mountainous view would be incredible. My favorite ride is Haunted Mansion because I love Halloween and Halloween decorations, especially skeletons and the ones that leer out from the windows are adorbs, I wanna hug them.
I went on the Coaster a few years ago before it received seatbelts, and I was sitting in the back row. I really felt like I was going to fly out my seat, it was TERRIFYING!! (But fun.) 😆
I went to playland not too long ago for the first time and i made the mistake of doing the wooden roller coaster first. It was very fun but if you were to go for the first time i dont recommend you do that first, though i di recommend you do do it
Coaster really needs to run multiple trains. I was at Playland not too long ago, and for about an hour (after opening) two trains were running, although one had test dummies in it. It was taken off the track later that day, and I heard it's still not running two trains, and (to make things even worse) has had much longer wait times due to the PNE fair.
Oh, and I also saw the space and track for the new coaster. It looks like some foundations have been placed, but currently the track is just laying there.
When I was a little kid in my young single digits I would purposely spin the teacups until my parents wanted me to stop
My dad used to tell me the center wheel didn't do anything to prevent me from spinning.
@@CanobieCoasterlol
I still go even though I live in prince george the only reason I go is the beast
My third pick would be atmosfear. Second pick would be the beast ride. And number one is Hellevator.
No Coaster?

Thanks for pointing that out. I have an edit pending to fix the manufacturer.

The Flash also had an episode here too.
@@CanobieCoaster Oh it did?
Yes, season 2 episode 19. The final fight takes place there.
The only reason I first came to playland was actually diary of a wimpy kid
I just went today I did the new coaster waited 2 hours😂 but was really fun!
I've heard that has had long lines, but glad you liked it.

I still got rattled about though. It felt like I’d flip out of the thing on a couple occasions; I actually thought I might die.
I'm glad people followed the rules and didn't stand up.
Same, before 2000 when I was a kid I was lifted right out of my seat against my will. I was scrawny
@@FakhriaNoori air time
Yeah, I’ve ridden in 2016 since I was forced to go on, and my dad had to literally grab me and hold me down as I was literally in the air.
Too bad PlayLand closed the Wild Mouse. That was my favourite ride as a kid. If it was still open today I believe it would have been in your top two.
That's unfortunate.
what do u think is the worst ride at this park
Probably the swinging ship since it can make me queasy.
You put enterprise at 13 and cedar falls log ride at 10 but tea cups at 9 that's crazy
I love how quick I can spin the cups.
2:09 I believe that is a Huss model. I recently got my 500th ride on the breakdance at my local fair
Let's see if it's right.
You beat me to it. Schwartzkopf models have their car tops open up and tend to have exactly 21 cars (rather odd, but it's what it is).
Breakdance was build sum time in the mid 2000’s. I remember when it opened.
Oh ... I was actually referring to the Enterprise and not the Breakdance; then again, both are Huss and not Schwartzkopf.
Thanks for pointing that out. I have an edit processing to fix that.
Looking forward in riding their new ThunderVolt coaster !! , also , that Beast pendulum ride is very intense!!! I love facing outwards so much!
I'm glad they're getting a new coaster.
I went on thubdervolt yesterday :) the launch is super fun the rides really short though
The Enterprise and Breakdance are both Huss
Yep.
Thanks for pointing that out. I have an edit processing to fix that.
It’s cool they are getting a launch coaster next year
Yes it is.
How do people not get nauseous on The Beast when it’s spinning & swinging at the same time? 🤨
Some swinging ships bother me, but I'm oddly fine with the bigger ones.
I WENT HERE YESTERDAY I RODE MOST OF IT AND I WENT IN THE HAUNTED HOUSE
Cap it’s not halloween
No there is a haunted house
Nice!
I rode coaster with the seatbelts, they make the ride absolutely painful on the airtime hills, but the coaster is pretty much the same other than that. I came off with bruises on my legs lol
I've heard they hurt the airtime unfortunately. The near death experience is what made it special.

Ah ok, thanks for clarifying the location!

?
I went yesterday and I have the disability pass so I get on very easily and I literally rode on rides 100 times

Views are a big part of the experience for me.
My brother was stuck on the west coast weel for 30 minutes one timr😭😭😭
Good views at least.
When I went here the log flume wasn’t open, but if I go again I’m riding it!
Nice!
I love playland used to go all the time as a kid/teen. Moved to Victoria so haven’t been in a long time.
It's a decent park.
And I’m going today with my second cousins
Have fun!
Where's pirate ship and where would u rank it
I'm not a fan of swinging ships.
imma be honest the seatbelts are cosmetic
That's good to hear that they don't kill the ride.
what do u think is the worst thrill ride at this park
Probably the swinging ship since it can make me queasy.
The hellevator is overrated
I love the view.
I’d say the new ride thunder VOLT should be in top 2 or 1 since it’s out now
It looks like it could place 2nd or 3rd for me.
It is kind of lame but I’d but it in 3rd

HEY IM ON THE CEDER FALLS LOG FLUME

@@CanobieCoaster I do
As a person who lives in Vancouver, I’ve been to Playland multiple times and it is amazing
Nice!
Roller roaster is included in ticket price or we have to separate tickets from inside?
how many ACTUAL scary rides does this park have
Depends what scares you.
where would u put thundervolt
1 or 2
I haven't ridden it, but it looks to be 2 or 3.
Would you like to return to PNE Playland with Coaster open?
Yes

True

I love the wood coaster. Going there first lets you beat the crowds.
@@CanobieCoaster yea it does there was no one there that day and we were at the front of the line
Didn't Coaster debut for the 1986 Expo event or am I thinking of another coaster? If so, I was there and too terrified as a kid to ride it😂
It's much older than that.
@@CanobieCoaster Looked it up. Thinking of Scream Machine, now Ninja at SFSL (i *knew* it wasn't a woodie!)

where is gladiator

They've had issues running 2 trains in recent years.
Originally Coaster ran 3 trains. Today only one of the trains is able to pass certification to run
i was here yesterday
Nice!
The accelerator is actually just Rita but with a hill to start the hills are also smaller
It still should be a nice fit for them.
