I started learning Thai in June after consuming alot of Bls and Thai Pop. My method is basically learning how my 2 and 6 yr old learn language. So learning the Thai alphabet as a singalong made it stick quickly. I can count to 1000, know colors, shapes. Currently working on sight word, greetings, letter tracing and formation. Idk if my method is correct but it feels natural.

I just started learning Thai myself, and the biggest thing I can agree with is less is more. I bought a few different books and they all had their different ways to establish an english romanization system (a way to visualize how the letters should sound) in english. So I had to quickly realized to focus on only one way and not multiple. Next was the Thai writing system. It's actually fairly complex to understand because the Thai language has verbally evolved however the text hasn't changed in over 700 years. So sometimes I try to read a Thai sentence and I mispronounce because I'm using the incorrect pronunciation. My way to fix that issue is to learn how I should write the language and then listen to how native speakers pronounce the word and mimic them. Just as yuxi does. I am still extremely new to Thai but I agree, it's a beautiful language that is visually appealing to me. Hope your Thai learning is going steady still!

If you're serious about learning, try and master reading the script as early as possible and make sure you are pronouncing the sounds and tones correctly. Then you can stop relying on using the english written version of Thai words. The longer you learn using the english written version of words the longer you're going to mispronounce words/tones and create bad habits that need to be fixed later.

    Great job, excellent!
I would add a (strong!) reminder that Thai is a VERY polite language and that non natives speakers should ALWAYS use the polite words.
Leave the "goo" and "meung" to the BL's!

I am in my 6th week with a tutor. I really appreciate this video. It gives me some other tools to use in my language journey. Your handwriting is amazing and I love the different colors between the Thai Script, the transliteration and the translation. My transliterations suck. My strength is reading and my opportunity is speaking. I will do my best to follow your tips and I am going to order that book. ขอบคุณนะครับ

if u want to know how to read thai and write then yes u should start with learning the alphabet then the tones which are really important and the vowels , then (ill say with my experience) try to start and read a bit so you can see if u actually remember them. When I learned all of this the things what started to do is to find two exact same videos one with eng subs and the same video but with thai subs and ill write down the eng subs first and then the thai subs so i can see how to say the exact same thing in thai and this way i also learn new words. this method is actually pretty fun and enjoyable. Also i listen to some podcasts to improve more my vocabulary and now im trying to speak with more thai people so yes. You can try this method too😊

I found a teacher who Could teach me on my own language. We started with letters and tones. In 1 month I already could read correctly. Now is the 11th month of my Thai education, I can speak in stores, markets, cafes, taxis, can ask about directions. But it's still difficult to understand. (I study only 3 hours a week)

the roman one. Do you search it somewhere else? (sorry about my grammar, English is not my first language). I hope you can answer this 👋🏻 thank you

Nothing stopping you learning to read (I honestly wouldn't even bother with writing). A teacher isn't really going to help you to memorise the script, just do that yourself. The teacher will help with pronunciation though.
