Matthew Frees with the freshwater salt system, there is a disposal cartridge inserted into a special fitting. Approximately every 4 months, the cartridge should be replaced. No cleaning of the cell is required. The output levels of the system can be adjusted by the control panel, based on the bather load.
Can you please tell me about the "power" level of the salt system (ie 2 or 3 etc). My installer mentioned this, but I have not been able to find any information about it. Is there a difference between increasing the "power" and increasing the "level".
The power levels are preset at the factory based on the size of your spa. We recommend adjusting the output level (1-10) according to the manufacturer's guidelines in your freshwater start up guide. Initially, set the level fairly high, until you establish a Chlorine residual of 3ppm that maintains itself. You can then adjust the level down to maintain a stable 3ppm residual. This process can take several days. Your installing dealer should be able to provide you with guidance based on your spa model, usage patterns and local source water conditions.
What cartridge was inserted? What levels are being adjusted by the control panel? How easy is it to clean and maintain the salt cell?
