  • 🇬🇷 A March that was dedicated to Greek Revolutionary & Artillery officer Pavlos Melas (Παύλος Μελάς). He is well known for fighting in the Macedonian struggle aiming to unite the region of Macedonia with Greece.
Born in Marseille, he became an advocate of the Megali Idea and studied in the Efelpidon university in Greece, ending up becoming an officer of the Greek army and one of the first men who would go to fight in the Greek struggle for Macedonia.
He died fighting for his ideals in July 1904, where he re-entered Macedonia with a small unit of men and fought against the VMRO until October 13, 1904 when he was killed after being surrounded by Ottoman forces in the village of Siatista.
The quote presented in the video itself is part of one of Pavlos' quotes.
His last recorded words being "It's worth it for someone to die for Macedonia; for Greece."
