E36 M3: Bleeding the Brakes and Buttoning up Suspension Install

- The E36 is off to get some paintwork done, so I wanted to give a little update on it before it goes. Doing some bleeding and wrapping up the E36 M3 suspension install. The TC Kline SA's are in and the Brembos are bled. I had an issue with brake clearance and the wheel weights but the Style 24's look perfect on this car. This car is going to be absolutely sick when it's done!

Just awesome, I love the Style 24 wheels and had a set on my last 1998 M3 Evo (Euro) Its amazing the difference a nice climate makes to a cars condition, Even before the dry ice cleaning this was so nice, Most cars in the UK suffer from terrible corrosion due to our depressing winters and salt gritted roads.

I used the Motive for the first time a couple of weeks ago on my MX5 ND2. Really easy to use and flush/bleed the brakes. I just cracked the bleeder screw open a quarter of a turn and it worked well. Kept the screw open until I needed to pump up more pressure or empty the "catch-can"

I let the bleeder screw wide open to speed up the fluid drainage. Because you are not pressing the brake master cylinder, you don't have to manage the bleeder screw. You just let it run at a pace where you will not deplete the fluid too quickly.
The e36 looks amazing loving the stance en the oem plus look with the brembo's

Usually a good half turn is all that’s needed to open the bleeder valve. In my experience it should bleed out much faster than shown when pressing the brake pedal but I haven’t used that power bleeder.

the S52 is still a great and fun engine.
That's why this entire project is a total waste if he doesn't get the EuroSport twin screw supercharger. He's a "show&shine" guy and completely out of his comfort zone actually getting dirty to wrench on a car so don't get your hopes of high, smh'...

Some older Bmw vids. :D Yess. Can't wait to see this thing driving. Just want to see this thing with a nice set of wheels & tires, some nice fitment, and a nice lil exhaust. And let it rip.
Maintain the pressure in the reservoir and loosen the bleeder until you feel you may be pulling air from the bleeder threads. I usually don’t put fluid in the pressure tank because its a pain to have to clean it out when you done.
Good luck with it! A perfect specimen (in the works). Looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor, and you haven't even polished yet!

Hey Matt, it would probably be a good idea to get a mini rolling cart for when you take parts off the car and use the tools and drill.
That way you don’t need to pick everything up from each spot and also it will reduce the chance of damage of a tool hitting the paint since your using the the lift as a table

My Motiv bleeder annoys the crap out of me. The hose is curved and no matter what it is always interfering with the pump handle. Drives me nuts.
Matt - you need to get the new sonic ratchets. They are awesome.
Still waiting on him to release the parking brake/push in the clutch so the car can settle to actual height....
I don’t know some guys say you get air through the threads but since you have constant pressure coming out versus a dude pressing on the brake pedal this might be different...

@@ObsessedGarage Your ignorance amazes me. Yes you absolutely do. You do not want preload on your sway bar while the vehicle is sitting. This is pretty self explanatory and important.

What brake rotors are you using with the 996 brakes? 325mm fronts?
These were new aftermarket Brembos.
Are they from a E46 M3? I have a similar set up but looking for slotted floating rotors, not slotted/cross drilled

front rotors are incorrect orientation, drivers side rotor should be on the passenger side, edit so are the rears. awesome build btw
How can you tell? The slots don’t make a difference - the direction of the internal cooling vanes does.
@@matthewfuller1129 think of the slots as arrows, the arrow ends at the edge of the rotor, the slots should face the rear of the car. I guess it doesn't really matter, but they were designed to go the other way so that's the way I'd install them. Edit use the slot at the 12 o'clock position with the arrow rule, you will see which way they point. Some rotors it does matter which side they are on so the cooling veins are catching air.

@@ObsessedGarage in my experience most rotors with external slots face the rear. I realize that the internal vains dictate the direction, it is just very uncommon to have the 2 not match. I've been a mechanic for a 6 years now and admit I learn new things every day.
