American guests absolutely LOVE being on the Graham Norton show, they are much more relaxed than on american tv. And sometimes they actually ask "can we say this?" There is an instance of Matt Damon saying it was the most fun he ever had on a talk show and it is quite obvious he really means it. Graham just got married to his longtime partner.
So much of the jokes with Will.I.Am and Miriam are missed when it's cut up like this. You should totally watch their segment as a stand alone sometime!♡

Adam Lambert was on that segment with WIAM. I think she is utterly hilarious!!! She feels at her age she can say whatever comes to mind. There are many different shows together that make this piece!
@@stacia2719 I think the same age thing applied to Betty White. I remember seeing a segment from an interview when she was 95 and the interviewer asked her if there was anything she would still like to do, and she said: "Robert Redford"

She makes every show so much fun. The last clip when she was telling the story about the soldier in a tree and Adam Lambert said and you said I can't say "shit" lol. She told him when he first came to the couch after singing that he shouldn't say that word. I saw an interview with the person she was doing a road trip show with and he said Daniel Radcliffe asked him if he was sure he wanted to go. I understand she intimidated Daniel during the filming of Harry Potter because she kept farting.
I love Miriam with Will I Am they start as strangers and it ends with his arm around her love it lol x
They are still in touch with each other..she was on a daytime show recently saying how much she admires him..
Their body language - Will.I.Am especially - is so interesting. He starts off leaning to the far side of the couch and gradually they get closer and then end - as you said - with his arm round her shoulder.
They're besties and I absolutely LIVE for it
I'm sure Miriam's way of supporting the troops is much more appreciated than just saying "thank you for your service"!
In regards to the whole "thank you for your service" thing, I've heard military people say that they're not really fans of that, and that people who say it are saying it more to feel good about themselves. Truth is, I don't imagine most people join the military in hopes of praise for doing so. Joining the military is usually either to help someone get a better life for themselves through GI college program (at least in the US), or serving their country. MOST people who join do so to make a difference, not to be selfish. Even joining for the college tuition isn't selfish because with a degree one can go on to something great like being a doctor, or having a career that can really make a difference.
@@FLQueerLiberal1982 I was in the Marine Corps from 2001 - 2009 and when people found out and thanked me for my service I would be polite and thank them for it, because it's a way of showing gratitude to military service members. What you said is actually true in my case. I didn't serve in the military so people could praise or thank me. I did it because I wanted to serve my country and I felt it was the right thing to do and most of my family served in the military. It's awkward when someone says it to me but it comes from a good place and they're not trying to be rude or sarcastic, so I let them know I appreciate it and move on.

Her potty mouth is so funny, they dread her on daytime TV as she just comes out with outrageous stuff.
My favourite part of this, other than the utterly brilliant MM, is seeing how US guests react, they either freeze with shock or enjoy the freedom of late night UK tv!!
It did air & the show is on a Friday night at 22.30. Miriam & Greg Davies are my favourite guests. They've been on numerous times, but are great every time. I've just bought her new book & looking forward to more of her stories!

Graham's show is known for allowing the guests to say anything they want....consistently entertaining for years and years...
When the Johnny Carson Show was the best, it was the same thing - creative people from different areas of life mising together and sparking off each other. Then it got to be more about plugging stuff and was never as good.

Graham Norton's show is known for having the best stories and interviews. He's said his trick is openly allowing alcoholic beverages and letting the stars mingle. When they tell stories next to each other, they tend to try to one-up each other with crazy stories. So he gets the best stories. Love his show. Almost always end up in a fit of laughter to where tears are coming out my eyes.
After 9pm in the UK we show anything. We have this weird thing called "freedom of speech" and we don't have that thing called cancel culture. 😂✌️♥️🇬🇧

She's so wonderful and outrageous that she moved to Australia 🇦🇺 and became a citizen - so we Australians have adopted Miriam as our own! We love ❤️ her!

The Will i Am episode is one of the best TV I saw in my lifetime. Graham takes all his guests out for a for a meal beforehand and gets them well oiled. I'd really like to be an extra guest at one of those

Hopefully you can see more Graham Norton shows on TH-cam. There are a lot of his videos released. American performers who are on the red couch for an interview by him adore the experience. His program here in the states is on BBC America. I have been watching him for years. His show never disappoints. This is a fun mix. She is always so hilarious!
Miriam is a national treasure, she has absolutely no filter, and her fans love her for that.
I love her appearances on his show. She's funny,and not afraid to say what's on her mind.

The thing about Miriam is, if she were born later she would've been one of the biggest stars in the world.
She was a member of the Cambridge footlights when it was domineered by men, and according to Miriam, treated very badly by the other members because she was female (notably John Cleese and his ilk.)

The Graham Norton Show is really worth watching. He gets the best and funniest interview results out of his guests. He also consistently gets top class people on his show.

Will.i.am is American of course but he's also a national treasure in the UK. He's a wonderful man and the only consistent judge on the Voice.
This is hilarious because I’m totally on her page about not really getting why people feel shame or awkward about those things, but I know OTHER people think so so watching them get super uncomfortable cracks me up. Like I could have been sat next to her and not been phased at all, all the shit she said was fine and usually funny too lol, but watching Matthew Perry squirm had me dying laughing, or watching reactors go “wtf” when they’re not used to someone being candid is really amusing.

Congratulations for being the first American I've heard pronouncing Margolyes correctly. All of these clips are from the Graham Norton Show. It usually airs on TV at 10pm but there's a second version that airs 2 days later at 11pm that is the uncut version.

You lose the context of what Will I am is rapping about, earlier in the chat show She tries to get Will I am to stop saying 'Like' before and between everything he says. He said " I was like" and she stopped him and tried to get him to stop saying it.

Miriam is an absolute treasure.. She came over here to Australia to do a TV series called "Australia Unmasked", it is brilliant. Her sense of humour and unashamed honesty are her, much loved, trademark.

Years ago I worked in a recording studio in London. A cast of actors came in to record a play for radio & Miriam was one of them. From the moment she arrived I was in fits. She was constantly funny & incredibly warm company. One of the cast members hadn't turned up so they asked me whether I would step in. It was hard to be serious but it went well. She was lovely to me & said if I ever wanted to holiday in Italy I would be welcome to use her house there as a 'thank you'. I didn't, but my friend did. I just loved her. Still do.

She's had a few new series on the BBC recently where she's travelling around visiting places and meeting ordinary people and she's exactly as she is on Graham Norton. What you see is what you get. Have you read her autobiography yet? If not you absolutely have to. It's hilarious.
She's one of very few celebrities that I'd actually like to meet and spend time with. Her, Billy Connolly, Stephen Fry, Frank Zappa if he were still alive and lovely Ian McKellen.x

I too love Billy Connelly but to be honest, I sometimes don't understand what he's saying due to that Irish accent of his. Steven Fry is a great actor and a pleasure to listen to his stories. Great men. I am curious in hearing Billy Connelly's story of his experience with being a band mate of Gerry Rafferty who is one of my favorite singer/songwriter from Ireland. Thanks for mentioning Miriam Margolyes' autobiography.

It's a very long running tv show on the BBC. This is kinda par the course of what goes on. It is always extra special when she is on. But they can say most of the US's taboo words for talk shows. Check out the Graham Norton channel! There is a LOT of great content! TONS of laughs!

Miriam Margoyles is a treasure, and the Graham Norton shows, is one of the best late night shows you can watch. The guests sit there with the drink of their choice (that is important, and unoffensive on British TV), and just relax and interact. It would be great if you watch a full show (I mean for your own pleasure, not for a reaction) and catch the dynamics of the show: monologue on the news of the day, then first guest, then second guest, then third (previous guests are on the couch still) and the host is all prepared, then a musical act hat may join or not the couch or not for further interaction . It is brilliant.
