It is an impressive, beautiful and magical forest river called Spengla.
This river is in southern Lithuania, Trakai and Varėna districts. It is the right tributary of the Merkys River. It starts in the Gudaraistis swamp, in the vicinity of Gudakiemis, 8 km east of Onuškis. It flows to the southeast, crosses Galvožeris, Spengla, Greiželis lakes in the upper reaches, and continues through the Rūdiškių forests. It flows into Merkys 82 km from the mouth, southwest of Valkininkai.
Average slope 102 cm/km. In the lower part is the Spengla Hydrographic Reserve.
