All harden slim socket keys will split with impacts eventually sooner than later and anti seize with a torque wrench is your friend, missed the part where it says they are better subjectively
I have a set of spline wheel locks, I used "White Knight" for the brand. Same issue I have AZARA 501 22" aftermarket rims and I need a smaller lug nut. They worked great. Never use and impact gun.... it's not saving you that much time......if you strip the nut or spline your screwed
Hey man, kinda late to the party but I've just installed pretty much the same lug nuts just "stolen" by other company sold in Europe. Isn't there a problem with the cone being to narrow? It stays nearly flush when it's fully tight. Factory lug nuts had bigger wider cone. Kinda scared of loosing a wheel :(
Will these specific lug nut set keep your rims safe? Can anyone still be able to steal your rims with these specific lug nuts. I know it says "lock" on it but I was just making sure that they actually work and keep your rims safe?!? Please let me know because I was looking to purchase them. thanks
yes, ppl can still steal your wheels w/these and similar lug nuts. the thrives have to be prepared, but these are not going to be the absolute guarantee. even the 7-sided Rays nuts (L32) aren't theft proof. there are certain locking nuts that are more difficult to get past, but they are also more expensive. you could make all 4 or 5 nuts locking nuts and a thief can still get the wheels, it will just take longer...and the longer it takes, the better the deterrent....the advantage to the tuner lug is the smaller body that requires a smaller tool/adapter to better fit in the smaller lug pocket found on many aftermarket wheels.
Quick question about these lug nuts. Do I need an air wrench to take them off? Or can I just use a cordless impact wrench? Please let me know thank you 🙏
One BIG problem I had with dorman wheel lock is that the same key code on the socket ( purchase mid may 2020 ) is the same as the as the key socket I purchased 4 years ago but not interchangeable even thought all the key code stamped on the socket are the same, the store agreed with me.....call dorman co transfer around but no answer except was told I had to make a clay model of the key and ship to them .....so returned to Oreilly.....never buy Dorman again....bob
I lost the key, and it took forever too get the exact same one i needed, such a pain especially when i need the car as soon as possible, i had to order three separate keys because non of the parts shop had any that would fit mine.

0:27 is this the key?
Is that spline socket that it comes with safe to use with an impact driver?
yes it is
Are these the type you can just hammer a socket onto and remove it?
As you can with most
spline wheel lock kit lug dorman jdm

I wouldn't feel comfortable using a air tool on these .You can use a electric gun or regular breaker bar & flip socket.

If you are concerned about theft of your wheels there are better options out there but for the professional no wheel lock will stop them.
Their a fucking nightmare, i hate dealing with these.
Why is that?
I lost the key, and it took forever too get the exact same one i needed, such a pain especially when i need the car as soon as possible, i had to order three separate keys because non of the parts shop had any that would fit mine.
Can't really fault the lug nut for losing the key. It's like hating your house door because it was locked and you forgot your key
Having the same issue with mine. Lost the key and can’t find the right fit. Damn it
