This piece always moves me. Sweet and sad as Brahms live.

This is definitely my favorite camera ensemble. His reading of Brahms Sextet No. 2, I think it's the best I’ve heard till today. Whenever I want to hear it, this is the definitive interpretation. Regarding number 1, I was a little disappointed with the tempo, I found it too fast. I don’t think this was the tempo intendend by Brahms. I prefer the old recording by Menhuhin, Wallfisch, Gendron, etc...

I studied cello with Bernard Greenhouse and he used to say" you need to play Brahms fast because he writes slow". I always found that to be good advice,

Ein durchschnittlich gespieltes Kammerkonzert von Orchestermusikern, die es eigentlich besser können müssten... Als kammermusikalische Leistung vom Zusammenspiel und der musikalischen Leistung eher schwach. Vom WDR-Sinfonieorchester erwartet man einfach mehr!
