I bought a brand new General in 2022, and the brakes absolutely sucked for the first couple rides, I was actually worried. But then one ride they were amazing and stopped so well, they just needed to be broken in, I'm expecting the same on my new Xpedition when it arrives.

Our group have rugged radios and intercom and we all wear headsets. Because we have headsets, noise is a nonissue with my Xpedition ADV 5, Northstar

This is probably the best solution to eliminate the noise issue.

These machines are so noisy that they need to be ridden with hearing protection. Your review is total BS. It has a lot of good features, but mine averages 95 decibels inside the cab while riding, totally unacceptable! I guess you’re being paid by Polaris…

Exactly - I, unfortunately bought one ., The reason it is so noisy it revs way too high and that needs to be addressed - Gilomen has a clutch kit to substantially reduce RPM but Dalton does not agree with them - I have ordered a Hunter Works belt and it supposed to knock off 200 RPM . Apparently there are hundreds of complaints and as you can see from my comment Polaris has told me some sort of fix is coming. Meantime I added sound barrier behind and under the rear seat and double insulated the firewall panel in the engine bay with heat proof sound deadening - According to my sound meter app I am idling at about 69 DB and at 5500 RPM it is about 76 DBA
Polaris REALLY screwed this one up and I can see a class action against them

I checked my 2022 General XP 2 seater with front and rear glass, no upper doors, 88 DB cruising, 94 DB accelerating. Not much of a difference.

Ok - so I have had the Polaris clutch kit installed, I have added sound barrier to the inside and outside of the Firewall (between the back seat and engine bay), under the rear seat and foot well, and 3/4 inch rubber floor mat front and rear. I have put on 32 Inch tires and have installed a Hunterworks drive belt I am 68 DB at idle and 72 DB around 30 MPH - so much improved - now we can talk ---

I have a 2024 Polaris Xpedition XP 5 -- WAY TO NOISY - revs too high - apparently according to Polaris customer service - their engineering is DILIGENTLY working on a fix-- I REGRET MY PURCHASE - this is probably due to improper gearing (too LOW) I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS MACHINE AT ALL - Please note that there have been HUNDREDS of complaints about this problem and POLARIS is dragging their feet - PS - I have added sound barrier to area behind and under the seats and on the firewall in the engine bay - this helped the noise a bit but the HIGH revs are UNPLEASANT to say the least - OK if you have earplugs or you are hard of hearing - otherwise PASS PS I traded in my 2021 Polaris General and regret it - also the ADV is even nosier that the one with the dump box. PSS you have to remove the rear skid plate to get at the oil filter - ridiculous
