A lady I worked with collected baby dolls. She had a room decked out like a nursery. They were incredibly life like. They were all asleep in their little beds. It was a surreal and unforgettable experience.
I never got into these dolls beyond admiring the artistry, I remember when they were thousands of dollars/pounds because premade kits didn't exist (I don't know if you're using premade or not) & the doll makers had to handpour & make custom molds themselves. I'm so glad that those kits allow this sort of thing to become more accessible! I'm actually shocked at how much the price has dropped in comparison to the earlier days of this artistry! You do wonderful work!
Are you thinking of silicone dolls? Because I’m pretty sure berenguer dolls were used when it started and that’s where the term reborn came from, because they were “berenguer reborn” since they stripped the factory paint and repainted them.
Your prices are basically just at minimum wage. 40x 11.44 = 457.60. people don't realise this. Artists very often get paid minimum wage for their art and even more often, well below.
@@karenw.pennicook8669In America pounds means weight. We use the metric system. However, common sense would tell you that baby doesn’t weight that much. Also, the person speaking has a British accent so therefore when they are referring to “pounds” they are most likely talking about Britain Currency.
Yes, you DO DEFINITELY DESERVE to be paid your worth! These dolls are a work of art! ART!!! They are not play things…. They are not TOYS!!! They are touchable, holdable, movable ART!!! Dropping them or rough handling can/ will result in damage! These dolls are designed for gentle handling and display only! They look like REAL babies! The more a doll looks and feels real, the more time, effort, and supplies are used to create these masterpieces! If you want a doll with quality such as this… you have 2 options. Buy one from a reputable artist and/or seller OR have the skill to make one yourself! Either way IT WILL cost money to do!!!
We had a doll store that we would go to to look, and Mom got us each an 18" doll from there and came with a cheap outfit. When these newborn dolls first came out, they had one on display and Mom asked if we girl could see it, when the lady said yes, Mom went to pick it up and when that head flopped.....her Mama bear instincts kicked it and she "dove" for the baby's head. The lady had warned Mom the head would flop......but she wasn't expecting it to be THAT realistic! Lol
That’s honestly pretty fast (considering how detailed they are I mean, not fast for a work day), I don’t think I finish my paintings anywhere near that quickly. I don’t know how you get them so realistic and detailed in that amount of time.
Whoa! Fantastic job on the babies specifically the brown skin baby. I’m currently saving up to buy one; all your dolls are just beautifully crafted. Well done 💛
Your price of dolls is completely fine! If someone really wants a high quality and EXTREMELY CUTE baby doll, then they’re going to have to pay that price. I did have a question, though. Why are the dolls called “reborns?”
Before blank kits were available, artists would buy factory-made dolls at the store. They would strip off all of the paint, repaint them, add hair, weight them, and add other small details. The dolls were essentially “reborn” into new dolls.
It's such a shame that people complain about the price of your Babies 😕 With the amount of Love, time, creativity, thought, experience, expertise, care, & joy you put into each one, I know they're worth Every bit. Not to mention all the extra's you give, by adding the cute clothes, the sent (fragrance) just Everything you do. You're just Wonderful 🥰💖😃😉 Thank you for sharing yourself, Love, & Talent with all of us.
Goodness!! I thought they were real babies and you were putting a price on them 😅😂! They look wonderful! And you can see a lot of work, energy and love has gone into it ❤
That's actually not that expensive. I say an average of 600 to 700 is to be expected when buying a reborn baby. Tbh I would have expected prices to go up with how expensive the world is.
Honestly, I don't have a lot of money but I still don't see that as that expensive. I really thought you were going to say these cost over £1000 because I'd pay way more than £800 for that level of detail and care!
there was a trend a while back comparing artists' faces to their art and i gotta say, i keep forgetting these arent your real children and are dolls you've painted and haired
It’s such a silly question. These aren’t mass produced baby dolls like that’s so clearly obvious?? Anyone who has ever owned a doll knows what they looked like and they never looked so real you’d think they were! So dumb.
@@vampy5071 I mean, technically eyes actually naturally open when someone dies, because of the decrease in muscle tone. Also most people think that open eye dolls are more creepy than closed eye dolls seeing as they don’t blink.
It really annoys me when people say “I know someone who can do it for cheaper”. Like okay? It’s not gonna be better quality though
Even if it was the same quality, just because that person wants to be underpaid for their work doesn't mean everyone else should be!
Or just tell them "Then why are you telling me? Go buy it from them if they're cheaper"
oh dear lord i thought they were real. it takes insane talent to create something so realistic
Jesus christ i thought you was holding you actual babies holy crap they're so life like omg you've got an amazing talent omg im totally stunned
For the hours you put in the price it's kind of low. The new black baby is already looking crazy good

You are so talented. The dolls aren’t “expensive”, they are priced accordingly to the work put into them.

Works of art. And worth every penny ❤
I think it might be cheap compared to the love and therapy wise these dolls are.

Wow, thank you! I'm always looking to improve
I don't think that is that expensive.
They are essentialy realistic sculptures.
They are HANDMADE and pieces of art
That last part👏 artists deserve to be paid!!
Your babies are really lovely.
800 pounds? damn that's a heavy baby

It’s the silicones that are really expensive! I have 6 of them and they went from $1,800.00 to $3,400.00! I’ve seen some on eBay for almost $7,000.00!
Theyre not really expensive they worth it

I do like th werewolf pups 💙🐾

I hate the fact that you get so much hate comments:(

Do you do any reborn baby dolls with open eyes?
I don't usually make them with open eyes as I struggle to get the eyes in, but I do have a few open eye kits waiting to be made :)

Honestly, from another creator, thats so freakin cheap, mate! Even not creator perspective. I expected them to be over £1000 tbh
Where can we get one of your beautiful babies
do you sell silicone+plush body dolls or are these dolls vinyl?
What kind of paint do you use?
How much in American dollars

Do you do custom babies to look like real babies?
I don't make customs sorry
How much in American dollars for two babies one boy and one girl????
