      Idk how far you are ahead in planning, but having looked at the map for about an hour, id say (depending on the size), best place for an airport is (if you consider coastline as the south) is the plateau in the south east just above the walled(Cliffed?) Off area. Minimal terraforming, and close enough to the main mid/south west area.
      Keep up the great work, followed since hc and t.e.a.

    21:17 I guess that's an accidental bridge section but actually I feel like a curved boardwalk the whole way along the riverbank would look really cool instead of the straight gravel paths. Very cool build overall, the row houses look great, definitely worth the effort to budge them all up wall-to-wall :) I really like that last, curved pedestrian bridge you put in too.

    In Queens and Brooklyn a lot Row houses are not actually sandwiched right up to each other - most of the buildings have a rear alley/backyard and the side paths between the buildings act as rear access a lot of the time. I agree with the comments that sandwiching the buildings right up to each other is very UK.

    Just a suggestion but a realistic bus route for your new district would be to run a bus from the bus station along the main road, round the industrial area and back along the main road. 3-4 stops on either side of the main road and 5-6 around the industrial area and you have a proper commuter route for the residents to get to work or onwards across the city.

    Hey Biffa, Hugo here. (yeah, I had to! 😂)
    When you placed the rows of house manually. Could you have copy/pasted the first row and reset the buildings to shuffle the models? Like this you'd have to manually place only a row.

  • @bensliverka
    @bensliverka 2 ปีที่แล้ว +13

    Biffa, love the addition of the row homes! You should check out Manayunk Canal for an idea of what these rowhomes on the waterfront would look like with a quay wall instead of just the beach. I think it would add just a bit more finished look to the area! Plus, if needed you could expand to the other side with the rowhomes and really make it look canal-ish

    For population, I found the Wall-to-Wall theme to be near perfect (watch out for the commercial noise tho, even low-density). They have almost exactly the population maximum than regular high-density, and they don't go as high. They make a perfect bridge between high residential towers and low density. And since you need a couple more thousand... You should find a spot and cram it only with residential. No shops, no offices... use public transportation to overcome that challenge.
    Oh and no need to be a full pedestrian zone either, it works fine as a regular theme.
    LOVE the small community you just made today !

    Great use of an odd space!! I'd only suggest to add a cross road near the elem and high schools, perhaps make the railroad elevated in one spot, have the road pass beneath. It would be a third pedestrian connection for that area, but would also help with vehicle connectivity (for services especially). Oh, and for your truck traffic roundabout, you could add a sliver of a road to the dock road, but only to make the roundabout have 3 intersections haha

    • @edwardmiessner6502
      @edwardmiessner6502 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And adding that road under the tracks would make the nearby police station far more accessible and closer than the sheriff's office he did put in.

    I love 🥰 your new rowhouse district; a nice development for this small area of land by the river. It reminds me of the rowhouse districts of Baltimore MD, the city I was born in! So instead of Birch Heights, which I think is suitable for uplands instead and not here, I would very much like for you to rename it *Balteamore March,* recognising the Maryland city name and the small piece of land bordering the river and making it TEA related! It's an issue with a couple of creators I've seen who make terraced/row houses but make each one about 3/4 the width of a cell, so when they spawn they appear with gaps.
    TBH, my solution was just to uninstall all assets from those creators and stick with the ones who make buildings the right size 🤷🏻‍♂

  • @donnamorrell1895

    Another great episode Biffa, thanks, I've often thought they should make a British and American DLC, so we don't have to rely on modding our games just to make a town we would recognize, because when Mods go wrong it can take hours to figure out which mod is causing the problem, and by the time you've spent hours sorting the problem, you can't be bothered to play the game, Modding games is great when they work and are updated on a regular basis, but when they don't work, it's a huge pain in the arse.

    • @joserosa5342
      @joserosa5342 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thats the beauty of this game. Developer knows that. They want the community to make mods so the game can be going with DLC too. The games is old, 7 years.

    • @donnamorrell1895
      @donnamorrell1895 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@joserosa5342 the beauty is being able to play the game, not spend hours fixing mods, but I do understand why the Dev's want others to make mods, while they produce the DLC's, would just be nice if they worked, or were easy to fix, so we can spend more time play and less time fixing. :)

    • @bdboyo
      @bdboyo 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      At least they should have the ability to have uk motorway junctions. The zebra crossings everywhere ruin it too. Pedestrian bridges take up too much space. Lots to love but some things make the game really annoying like bin lorries that dont collect enough and millions of buses when you have set a low number.

    Surely the theme designer doesn't expect players to manually move every building to get them to look right. There must be some extension conflict or something which is causing the buildings to get scaled down.

      I'm not sure. Like someone said, they have windows on the side. Many American homes like these are close to each other but have alley paths between them to get to the back.

    • @japes7

      No. The wall to wall buildings are their own vanilla setting. Using them otherwise won't work or isn't relevant and needed.

    When you use that mod to join the railway line wouldn’t it be better to increase the radius of the curves as large as possible to have nice smooth curves rather than two very tight turns with a straight line between them?

    I'm always a bit worried about adding many different types of building to a theme. Too many different types of buildings look a bit weird in my opinion. On the other hand, too many of the same buildings look a little boring; I tend to choose the same buildings with different doors and windows and prop out or BOB the gardens

    Lovely little area that Biffa! Every episode of yours that i watch just makes me more dissatisfied with the limited options on my PS4 version of the game. You're just so limited to what you can achieve, and the rubbish supply chain dynamics, with people needing goods right next to people with no customers, right next to people who dont have enough raw materials, right next to ample supply of industries or warehouses holding the stock they need, just drives me nuts! I have two cargo harbours, two cargo airports and four cargo hubs, with miles and miles of underground tracks and it really is quite ridiculous that i have so many issues!
